Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

I sent WiiM support a mail last week.
Hello,

I don't know if I should contact your or Audio Pro about this. I'm very interested in buying an A10 MKII Wiim Edition speaker. However, I'm not sure where to buy the speaker.

It's very unclear to me what device is currently being sold by various webshops in the Belgium, Netherlands, Germany region.
I want to make sure I get a WiiM edition Audio Pro A10 MKII. Not the regular Audio Pro version. As I understand it, the regular Audio Pro version is also based on the LinkPlay platform, but the WiiM edition provides some extra features such as room correction.

Thanks in advance.

Got an answer today:
We are currently offering the Audio Pro Wiim Edition in the US and will assess its reception before considering its availability in other countries.

Best regards,
WiiM Support

The reception in the EU will be good I assume also in the US.
But when they sell the Wiim version in the EU it will compete with the Audiopro non Wiim version.
But both models are sold in the US? I assume they are not?
Still it's strange.. EU costumers are important but most of them aren't aware of the Wiim version.
So they aren't in a hurry...at all.

I wonder a Dutch store can't buy them in the US and sell them in the Netherlands.

I'm kind-of in a hurry to buy a speaker as I just moved country and don't have anything to play music from other than a laptop and a TV. I want to invest into more WiiM devices in the future so I'd prefer buying a WiiM edition, but I'm located in Europe so I don't have the choice (...yet, and it doesn't seem like it'll happen very soon).

How much of a difference does it make with a C10 MKII + WiiM Mini (or Pro) vs. a C10 MKII WiiM edition? What would I miss out on?

What I know...
Support hardware, software from Wiim. Software wise, all the regular updates from Wiim. Can you expect the same from Audiopro? I doubt it.
Then ..no room correction,no extensive eq,peq options.
Audiopro has a slider..i assume more less treble,bass..

I dont use radio but maybe there are more options in this manner in not sure.

But given that I buy a WiiM Mini or Pro I would get all the things you mention, wouldn't I? (I guess room correction might require a Pro and not Mini though)

I think you are right.
Maybe other members can confirm this?
I ask because i don't own a mini or Pro..

Dutch website could do dropshipping..😃
Buy in US sell in the Netherlands.
But then...
Support from Wiim?, updates i assume no regio blocking?😃
But seriously.. we can understand why Audiopro isn't in a hurry at all to sell them in the EU.
Most of the EU customers aren't aware of a Wiim version.
It is what it is..only thing you can do is wait.

I've never used a WiiM (or any other multi-room device) so I'm unsure about integration related things such as volume control, having it turn on/off, etc. If someone could confirm that these kinds of things will work smoothly then I think I might just order one today, because it doesn't seem likely it'll turn up in Europe very soon.

I think the number of people asking for it in this forum alone gives you a pretty good idea of the reception it might get outside the USA I.e. good. And how will they gauge that if they don’t publicise it wider? I can see LMS users welcoming them as well.

I really don’t know what WiiM want to do with these speakers tbh - the firmware hasn’t even been updated since its initial availability way back in September despite beta users sending in feedback for obvious discrepancies like a setting for fixed volume.

Maybe it’s not selling as well as they had hoped in the USA…

You do need a Pro at least to run room correction although the Mini does have EQ/peq albeit not L/R peq, just stereo. The Mini also lacks squeezelite, Chromecast, Roon ready (soon I’d expect for the WiiM edition audio pro speakers) etc

I've lost interest, I'm afraid. Looks like it's a marketing afterthought.

I ask myself.. why not working permanently together?
Audiopro and WIIM?
Reason why it isn't available in the EU is testing US market..one reason.. but there could be more if you know what i Mean 😉

Maybe work together.. Audiopro a company with focus on wifi speakers, high quality products... Wiim focus on streaming, wifi and high quality audio products.
Why can't they find eachother..
All Audiopro products with full Wiim functionality..

Hey there @RyanWithWiim. Any update on this? Still a go? If so, any timeframe yet? Really want to purchase some A10 and C10s but would hate myself if I missed the non-corded version. Can we assume by 'battery' you mean a rechargeable USB-C type configuration? or do you literally mean insert-batteries old-school style? Thanks for any additional info.
Looks like you already got your answer, there's no plans we've announced around a battery powered speaker. Sorry for the confusion! But I'll make sure to let the team know people are asking.

Got an answer today:
I'll keep on letting the team know that people are asking here for WiiM Edition A10 and C10 releases in Europe.

And the facebook page and slimdevices/squeezelite forums :)

The "test the US market first" theory just sounds like more blah blah from WiiM. Surely they haven't gone to the trouble of adding them to Amazon in Europe just to allow third parties to sell them on 🤣. All their new products seem to be available in the US first, were they just testing the water for them as well?

As a new Wiim/Audio Pro customer I don't have a 100% confident feeling yet with my purchase of the Audio Pro (Wiim Edition) speakers, I'll explain...

The first thing is just trying to get the Audio Pro website requires extra digging... I get that it's a Swedish company (I like that) but so is Ikea and when I Google Ikea, I go right to the website (US version)... Not sure why the US website link is "hidden" at the bottom of the "https://audiopro.com/" website but its not really intuitive for US shoppers. I almost bailed on it entirely until I saw the tiny link way down at the bottom...

Product line confusion.... The Amazon website "Store" for Audio Pro is kind of scattered and does not mention AT ALL the WiiM edition's under multiroom Audio. Yes they sell them, obviously as I have already purchased 2 but they also have the A10 MkII, non WiiM. They are also seem to be out of the C3's and I see a lot of bad battery reviews, hope they work that out because I really wanted a portable from them too.

Weird way to advertise them, one just the front and the other just the back. I just see this confusing people that don't want to sit and research for hours like I reluctantly am...

I feel like I had to put in way to much time trying to figure out the different versions, and which has what, and what will work with this app and that app.... Just my opinion as a customer and tech tech enthusiast, I'm 100% sure others did not feel this way while shopping for them.

Regardless, I still purchased 2 A10 MKII Wiim editions, 2 A10's (basic I guess?) directly from the Audio Pro website and I scored a C5A from eBay. Should be interesting getting it all to work the way I want . If it goes well I plan I purchasing more speakers from this brand.

There are many posts (Reddit, Sonos forum, etc...) with people itching to dump Sonos, I'd like to see other companies seriously take advantage of this while they currently burn their house down with the embarrassing app "upgrade".

@conn ..
Maybe write Audiopro an email..

Imagine here in Europe they sell the A10 non Wiim version for 250..
If they would sell Wiim version for lets say 280, 300.
You can imagine the Wiim edition would rather be hidden too.
How is it possible they sell the non Wiim and Wiim version for the same price 😮..
Things rather be hidden or scattered then,. as you can imagine. Non Wiim version must be sold too.

If you use Lyrion media server there's no need to ditch Sonos - they work perfectly with the upnpbridge plugin.
