Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

Honestly, that ship has sailed... I'm done with Sonos, already pulled everything and sold most of it.
Well, you're not in the position of a guy on the Naim forum who's complaining his 100K system has been ruined by a firmware update 🤣. It's a mad world.

Actually, the speakers are quite pleasant 😁
Absolutely, it pisses me off that it came to this to be honest. I loved my setup and would have eventually upgraded and expanded my system but the handling of the app & the stupid headphones caused me to lose faith in the brand...

Yep! The software is now rubbish. The headphones were/are a fiasco, as everyone was expecting them to be integrated into the system - just overpriced cans... So what?!

It blows me away that they (a speaker company) broke their product line for headphones that no one asked for... They can say people requested them all they want but I don't believe it... There are well established headphone makers that have been around for some time, there was absolutely no need to make headphones, stick with speakers and a better software experience...

Together peacefully and harmoniously 😁

The Devices view in my WiiM Home App. "Patio L-R" is stereo paired A10 MkIIs, "Portable" is a solo A10MkII, everything else's is Pro+.
Absolute peace and harmony, grouped or isolated.

Sonos enabled headphones was a frequent request from users - they just failed to deliver 😁

As actual sonos user with 10+ Sonos devices - I am totally disappointed with new app and devices responses...
I would like to buy and test A10 Wiim Edition once it will be available in EU and hopefully migrate away from sonos 🤞

The C10 packaging says Bluetooth 4.2 like the non-WiiM edition by AudioPro. The Amazon listing and the thread here says it should be BT 5. I don’t have anyway of confirming the version, nor do I plan to use Bluetooth but thought I would point it out.

Two questions:

1) Any update on the white version? Seems like it would be very easy to produce as the white shell is already available for the standard A10. You just need the WiiM modification to the hardware/software.

2) Could WiiM also make the wall and track light brackets (WB201 and TM10) available in the US? The brackets are only available in overseas markets right now it seems. Again they already exist, it's just making them available to US market.

So, I give my experience with the A10's WiiM editions (& Non WiiM) after about a week with them.

As I've stated elsewhere, I’m replacing my entire Sonos multiroom setup and doing the WiiM thing. So far, I liked the WiiM mini so much that I upgraded to the Pro Plus only after a few days of use. I set this up in my den with a new record player and a pair of Audioengine HD3's and a Cambridge Audio Minx X201 sub and the sound is fantastic.... Could not be happier with this setup, the WiiM devices work great, no issue with streaming music or sending the turntable audio to the other Wiim Speakers, mission accomplished.

Now setting up the two A10's (WiiM editions) worked, but was a little flakey. I felt like too much fiddling with the phone was required (connect to speakers wifi, turn off phone data, etc...) it worked but for each speaker I received a never ending-spinning-connecting ring which required closing the app manually after several minutes and letting it start again and then it was connected. Not sure about spinning "connecting glitch" but whatever, it worked... Phone is a S23 ultra which gives me ZERO issues so I can't blame the phone.

So as for the sound (which is subjective) .... I usually sit at my dining table with my laptop and listen to a single Sonos One that's about 5 feet away from me, low volume, background music and I could tell immediately that the A10 lacked the low, warm sound of the Sonos One... It's just not there, no two ways about it. And yes, I did the room tuning.

Regardless, it still does sound pretty good and it does get loud and sound crisp. I would say this speaker does much better at a higher volume so when I decide to play music throughout the house, it's perfectly fine. I stuck the other one in my Master BR and its sounds great in there, wife is happy with it. I'm still speaker shopping and will try to find one that does better with low volume sound quality for my Dining room.

So the other pair of A10's (non Wiim) I ordered turned out to be a complete disappointment... These were supposed to replace my pair of Sonos Ones in my family room. I set these up through the Audio Pro App this time and had the same spinning-connecting glitch, shutdown the app manually, restarted and they were connected. Shesh....

I grouped them, separated left and right and then discovered each physical volume button does not become the "Master" between the two, it only controls volume for that specific speaker... WTF??? So, to clarify… even though they are grouped/paired L/R, If you want to control the volume between the two you have to use the app, the physical volume button only does that individual speaker... Just WOW.

The point of speakers in this room is to keep it simple so someone can walk up to the speaker and control the volume (regardless of L/R, just like the Sonos ones) and use the favorites button which was a major plus for the Audio Pro's. But the volume thing is so dumb that these are going back and will be replaced with a single Audio Pro C10 (WiiM edition) to hopefully keep things simple.

So at this point i'm on the fence on how I feel about Audio Pro as my "replacement brand" for Sonos. I really don't see much hype for them, shopping for the speakers from Amazon was a bit confusing at first between models (Wiim, non Wiim) and then I see several complaints regarding customer service (or lack of) and the Audio Pro app itself seems to always be lacking.

The WiiM room corrections my make the low volume sound flat. Use the EQ "Loudness" instead in that case.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the A10's. I had a little fiddling with the setup when I first got mine, but since then they have been a reliable part of my WiiM/Linkplay space.

I did not know that the physical volume buttons do not respect the L/R grouping -- in my use case I use the app exclusively. This is unfortunate for sure.

In regard to the sound -- I agree with @hgo58 's suggestion -- forget about room correction and just use the tone controls. I think elaborate room correction is overkill (and maybe non-ideal) for a little speaker like this. Sounds like you need to move the bass slider up a bit.

Good luck.
