Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

Yes I'm aware of this. But apart from wiim specific features generally all audio pro speakers (as far as I know and tried) can be grouped with wiim devices and controlled via the wiim app and vice versa. This is quite important for my use case, as it means my mix of wiim and audio pro devices can all be grouped together (via the app or automatically via home assistant), which was actually my main reason for going with the wiim amp after owning several audio pro speakers. And I hope this continues to work, even when new wiim features like persistent groups are released.

Hypothetically if such a feature would break compatibility with audio pro features like grouping, I would have to get rid of all my wiim stuff and get audio pro streamers instead.
The persisted and regular groups exist independently and probably will not be a problem in the future.

As @Burnside already mentioned, AudioPro speakers (non WiiM edition) simply cannot be included in a persistent group.

I've given up on waiting for these to reach the rest of the world. Just recommissioned a Sonos Roam into Lyrion. Currently playing the Chicks essentials on CD via LMS cd-player plugin (what a brilliant plugin this @bpa developed feature has turned out to be - CD output to any Lyrion endpoint with full on screen display and control - the plugin was introduced years ago but now it's perfect to enjoy the cd revival using low cost usb cdrom drives).

You guys keep talking about Persistent Groups like it's an available feature. If WiiM would get around to releasing it I could complain that my AudioPro devices are excluded.

Persistent groups have already been released in Ultra.

Well, like others have recently expressed in other threads, although I am substantially invested and fully committed to the WiiM ecosystem via my 4x Pro+ streamers, this dominant focus on one product (Ultra) only makes me worry more that WiiM will maintain adequate support for their product line. Persistent Groups and other features that I consider fundamental and basic to networked whole-house streaming (like being able to shuffle play large libraries) continue to languish in the space of "coming soon," at least for most of their products.
Maybe WiiM desires to take their brand in a different direction with a focus on single-point high-end playback and elaborate room correction, and if so that is their prerogative. In the meantime there is a group of people like me who are looking to replace their Sonos whole-house networked audio with something reliable and fully functional, with support that will be maintained through time.

Well, if they released it first on an older product, you’d get people complaining about why it didn’t come first to their flagship streamer. No matter what they do, someone will always complain 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, I'll get that updated.

Correct, no batteries. They'll be available soon!
Hey there @RyanWithWiim. Any update on this? Still a go? If so, any timeframe yet? Really want to purchase some A10 and C10s but would hate myself if I missed the non-corded version. Can we assume by 'battery' you mean a rechargeable USB-C type configuration? or do you literally mean insert-batteries old-school style? Thanks for any additional info.

I think you might have misread that question/reply. There is no battery version. The available soon part was the now released A10/C10 that are mains powered.

Ahhh. Upon a re-read, I see what you're saying. Thanks for pointing that out. Dang, that's a shame, was getting excited. But good to know I won't wait in vein. Cheers.

I'm only interested in devices with an ethernet port, I have great WiFi but I also have ethernet throughout the house, at least if the USB port supported an Ethernet dongle that'd be something.
