Until fairly recently, I was able to use the iPadOS version of the WiiM Home App on my M1 MacStudio, and M3 MacBook Air.

Both Mac devices are running the latest release firmware macOS Tahoe version 26.0.1, and the iPadOS WiiM Home App version 3.3.10.

When I open the app, it starts to load, but when I move my cursor pointer to select something it freezes, and I get the rotating "Beach Ball" which eventually results in the app closing.

This behaviour stopped the app from working on the M1 MacStudio about a month or two ago, but was still working on the M3 MacBook Air within the last couple of weeks or so.

Does anyone else use the iPadOS app on an M series Mac product, and is it still working properly for them?

Just checked it on my M2 Mac Mini (everything with the same latest version as you), moving between tabs and clicking various buttons, and everything is working as expected.

One thing I have noticed when running iPad apps on my Mac is that they don't terminate properly with Cmd+Q, and are often still running in the background. Maybe check if Force Quit shows the app still running (Cmd+Option+Esc) and kill it off fully to see if that fixes it?

Thanks for checking. I used to leave it running in the background on my MacBook Air, but not any more as it won't stay running for more than about 30 seconds, and most of that time it has frozen with the rotating Beach Ball.

I have checked, and the app is no longer running when it closes.

I use it daily on my Mac mini M2 Pro running Sequoia 15.7.1 (will wait a bit before going to Tahoe or skip the version altogether)
Works great no freezes or anything. Just checked what @pjn said about not quitting correctly with Cmd+Q. It indeed stays active a little bit but closes by itself after 30 seconds.

Macos Tahoe 26.1
Ipad Version Wiim Home 10.15.21 running on a mac mini M4 Pro

When launched, wiim home cannot find my wiim ultra (works fine from Ipad on same network).

The wiim home app gets stuck in a window asking for local network access that is has already been granted.

Do you get the rotating beach ball and the app quitting after a while?

No. I just tracked it down and fixed it. The window popup you get from the wiim app does not list all the different accesses it needs. I went to the system settings directly and fixed it under the local network section (this was the one section the app was not listing).

Could you please give full details of what you had to do to fix it, as I haven’t been able to use the app for quite some time.

Here you go. It was the local network access that was not enabled in my situation.

When I was missing local network access (it was off) running the wiim home app gave me the following popup. What threw me off was local network access was not listed in the popup.

Unfortunately that didn’t help, as all of these were already enabled.

I tried removing them all, and deleted the app, and then a fresh installation, but still no good.

The app will launch, and I can occasionally click on something, and scroll up or down, but after a short while the app will freeze, and then I get the rotating Beach Ball for just over a minute, and then the app will close down.
