It's time to evolve into new Flagship

By the way, why is the Ultra considered a flagship? Its DAC is the same class as the Pro Plus. The Pro Plus has an undeniable advantage: the ability to upgrade to a linear power supply. Which is what I did. Believe it or not, the sound is definitely improved; even my wife said so.

Bet she was in the next room lifting a veil 😂😂
Why are you laughing? I looked my wife in the eye like a dog and asked, "Well, is it really better?" She said, "Yes, yes." I have no reason not to believe her. She usually says, "I'm tired of you and your toys." So that's definitely progress. Besides, I'm not deaf myself.

I hope WiiM staff read the OP's posts in detail, and then do the exact opposite of his suggestions. For the sake of their business. I'm sure they already have their own ideas on how to grow the business, including improving the product range as appropriate.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:, why man? I didn't say that WiiM should no longer produce Ultra, Mini, and Pro models. They will continue to make and optimize them as they already do. I just said that the level of software, features, technical assistance, and support reflect such a high standard that there could even be (conditional obligation) a new product in the range with higher performance, that's all. I didn't say to no longer produce entry-level consumer products. I didn't suggest any marketing changes in the current range. I really don't understand your misplaced hope.

I just want to listen to music on a nice system. I would love to to see a total automatic mode on room correction. No mode, max, min , frequency settings. Let the app choose the best setting for the correction. No need to look up info on what settings to apply. Push one button and wait.

That's how my dad feels, so I gave him one of these and he says it's the best thing I've ever given him (not counting his grandkids):

The X2D model so he can use his own DAC. He feeds it via USB from his WiiM Ultra. The X2D then feeds a Luxsin X9 DAC/preamp via coaxial S/PDIF that handles bass management and volume control for his SVS SB-3000 subwoofer and a pair of Topping B200 monoblocs that drive a pair of Magnepan LRS+. He has a fully treated, dedicated listening room. It sounds amazing. The Anti-Mode algorithm corrects both, frequency response and phase (unlike RoomFit, which only does frequency response, or DIRAC Live, which does frequency response, phase, and impulse).

He couldn't be bothered one bit with the faff that is WiiM RoomFit, or DIRAC Live. The Anti-Mode is as simple and easy as it gets, and he even enjoys the built-in tone control.

This isn't relevant to the topic at hand. It's a software and algorithmic task, and it's being implemented on existing devices. Please submit a feature request; I want a "do it well" button.

I have already compared the Magnepan foil, to the SVS SB 3000 rubber surround. The fact that it is a closed sub does not make it any better, with a foil dipole.

This raises the question of where the crossover frequency of the woofer to the Magnepan smaller foil area lies.

Unless it would use the bass in stereo and then as an H-dipole profile ( 3x10“ left & right Side) and < 40 Hz of the 3000 woofer.

The RT60 profile <80 would also be interesting.

The way I see it. We'll get the Pro Plus, upgrade the DAC to a flagship one (my personal preference is the AKM), and two linear power supplies, one for the digital and one for the analog parts. A USB input for the DAC, an SSD slot. DSD support. No screens or volume knobs.

Agree with this but dual AKM in mono and a big screen :)

I believe it is relevant because in my opinion it is the only upgrade the flagship needs. No more connections. No more power. And the power cord thing? Im not even going there.

I'm having a hard time interpreting this.

Are you just saying that in your opinion, open-baffle/dipole speakers should ideally be paired to an open-baffle/dipole subwoofer?

Any big screen isn't big enough. I can't imagine getting up from my chair and going to poke around at the screen, or adjusting the volume. Maybe a plug-in screen would be an option?
I got the app for the firestick. A screen on the unit itself is antiquated.

You probably understand the difference between software and hardware. Why put you the cart before the horse? We're discussing the hardware of a flagship streamer here. Wiim is developing room correction in exactly the direction you're looking for, but that's beside the point.

There's no need to start with cables, that's for sure.

Speaking only for myself, I'm quite happy with the Pro Plus and think of it as the sweet spot in the WiiM lineup. Unless you only need the optical output, and then it's the Pro. It would be nice to have more streaming services available, but with a USB to optical converter I can stream those from my PC now, with no loss of quality. All I would gain is convenience.
