Chromecast is not the limiting factor here. All apps I know can display meta data including cover art. I don't know if Roon for DSM is different. I think Roon does this on purpose so that companies certify their devices with them.

Very excited to be able to leverage Plex for multiroom. I've been relegated to the Plex DLNA feature due to chromecast's multi-room limitations, and while it's not bad, the Plexamp interface is preferrable. Many points to the WiiM team!
