Hello everyone, I am a new owner of a wiim ultra for a week, however I encounter some problems of operation and sound reproduction.
1- I have a latency problem disrupting the progress of the music and the support of the volume of my phone which blocks from time to time when using Spotify.
2- a very difficult connection between my phone and the wiim ultra after a restart or a factory reset.
3- a more or less significant distortion on different media like some of my MP3 files and also on some files on the Deezer and Qobuz platform regardless of the Vrms setting level and output used (RCA and optical). As if the sound was badly recorded or compressed, it is possible that there is some in my MP3 files but it surprises me on Qbuz. This problem is more audible on files exceeding 128kbps.

Have you had this kind of problem if yes have you found or received information to solve these various problems?
The device is updated
I wonder if I have a hardware problem ?
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely

Sounds like a bad network.

Hello, thank you for your response. However, I am connected directly by Rj45 cable to the internet box which is 50 cm away.
And you are not using bluetooth, right?

If connected using Ethernet and phone is on same network via WiFi there should not be problems like that.

Spotify via Spotify Connect and Qobuz and other streaming services via WiiM Home App?

I use Qobuz and my mp3 files with the WiiM home application with my phone, the Bluetooth is not connected directly to my WiiM ultra when using it.

It's not all the audio files that are saturated, only a few that I listened to are of very good quality, that's what I find strange.

Ok. It was the "This problem is more audible on files exceeding 128kbps." that led me to think about the network performance.

I am a network novice if you can tell me what network performance is needed for the WiiM ultra to work well I did a speed test and I got this result. I am on ADSL I do not have fiber and I will not have it for a while.
my internet television works very well without any slowdown for example.

You will need up to 10 Mbps downstream for a single audio stream in high quality.
It is however not only the speed that is relevant but also the latency and stability.

The ADSL connection can very well be the reason for the issues you see. Especially if you have other devices on the network at the same time.

Actually I think a hotspot on your phone would be better? Of course depending on what cell network you have.

my speed will be correct I am at 17 mb/s, when I listen I only use the WiiM ultra and the phone which is linked, which would mean that my phone eats the remaining bandwidth, unfortunately I do not have a hotspot near my house

Your phone is the hotspot if connected to a cell network.

Search for "hotspot" in the WiiM Home App section "More" -> "FAQ" in how to use it with WiiM.

That upstream speed looks extremely low to me. Even if you want to download the audio stream from from Spotify or Qobuz, your devices send requests upstream to the servers (including Spotify and Qobuz). And of course, the uplink is shared amongst all devices connected to the Internet, so this could become a bottleneck, too.

What upstream and downstream should you be getting according to your contract?

This is strange, though. The video plus audio stream should definitely be more sensitive to a slow connection. Is your TV connected through Ethernet as well?

One difference would be that the WiiM app also depends on the speed and quality of your Wi-Fi. Do you have the MP3 files stored locally on your phone?

With Spotify Connect and Qobuz integrated into the WiiM Home app this should be less of a problem as the app mainly is a remote control in this case, telling your WiiM Ultra what to stream from these services.

my tv has internet connectivity too but it is turned off when using Music. what i noticed is that high resolution music files were more subject to distortion but not all of them that is where the problem is, some are saturated but others work very well with more or less the same characteristic of the one that saturates in high resolution. some files at 128klb/s can saturate but it is less noticeable.
So far I haven't really felt any connection problems or network slowdowns even when watching TV, playing demanding games and listening to music at the same time I've tried.
