When I start a stream on my Wiim Ultra using the WHA the first track takes a long time to start and then drops for a second shortly after it starts playing. It seems to happen with all the streaming services I'm testing Amazon music unlimited, Qobuz, Tidal and Deezer. The subsequent tracks play fine unless I change streaming service in which case the problem re-occurs.

It seems like it might be something to do with caching?

What firmware version you have?

For general troubleshooting, you can try the following

  1. Turn off DNS and IPv6 on the network status screen of the WiiM app
  2. Reboot the router and WiiM device
  3. Test operation with an Ethernet connection
  4. Reinstall the WiiM app
  5. Factory reset the WiiM device
  6. Change router settings (find and fix cause of failure)

Try rebooting your wiim. Run speed test using your mobile device next to wiim. It could be you’re connected on 2.4ghz and there’s interference.

Thank you. I always use Ethernet cable to avoid any WiFi issues.

I'll try out these suggestions this evening when I get home. Now that you mention it I suspect it could be IPv6.

I did reboot and I always use an Ethernet cable for streaming to avoid any WiFi congestion. M Internet connection speed is pretty good, its about 252Mbps.
