Hello Wiim Team,

First of all, congratulations on your excellent products – the Wiim Ultra in particular has become a true centerpiece in many audio systems.

I’d like to suggest a feature that would be very valuable to many users and, from a technical point of view, shouldn’t be too demanding to implement: Smart (Adaptive) Loudness.

Instead of a fixed loudness curve, this function would dynamically adjust bass and treble compensation in relation to the current volume level (0–100). At very low listening levels, more compensation would be applied to preserve fullness and balance, while at higher levels the effect would gradually diminish until it is no longer needed.

Such an adaptive loudness would allow listeners to enjoy natural, full-range sound at any listening volume without having to manually change EQ settings.

This feature is widely appreciated on some high-end audio systems (e.g. Yamaha’s “YPAO Volume”) and would be a perfect fit for Wiim devices, making them even more user-friendly and audiophile-oriented.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Welcome to the forum!

Cool suggestion. I remember something similar on a Nakamichi amp I had years ago (still have it, actually); it was a separate knob that provided continuously variable loudness adjustment, but it manually did exactly what you’re describing. As has been suggested, definitely submit that in a feedback ticket through the WiiM Home App.

that is how yamaha did it in an excellent manner. pre-fixing the volume and adjust with loudness knob. no idea if the do it the same way today.

This feature would definitely be welcomed. Another user recommended using presets to achieve similar results and it works well. I have created some presets using EQ and some using PEQ and use them for low volume listening. The one I use most is a PEQ with a low shelf boost and a high shelf boost. I also use a preset that uses no EQ/PEQ and uses the RoomFit PEQ only.

Hi,

This is interesting. Can you kindly elaborate how you got your settings - especially outside RoomFit ?

I created EQ/PEQ based on my personal tastes and my speakers capabilities and use gain/boost for low level listening only.

1st- I run and use RoomFit. You cannot to Enable or Disable RoomFit using Presets.
2nd- Create and save an EQ or PEQ under Devices- EQ.
3rd- Create and save a Preset under Favorites-Presets-See All.
4th- Edit your Preset and select the EQ setting. Select the EQ or PEQ you would like to use for this Preset.
5th- Under Favorites select a preset you created. It applies the EQ or PEQ settings for you.
