Hi,

Anyone has the list of metadata fields that WiiM Ultra reads on FLAC Files?

More specifically, is any sort order possible on fields like: ALBUM_ARTIST_SORT or even something like ALBUM_NAME_SORT or TRACK_TITLE_SORT (or similar metadata fields - I don't know the list of all of them...).

BR,
Paulo

It's just the basics I'm afraid.

ALBUMARTIST
ALBUM
DATE
GENRE
DISCNUMBER
TRACKNUMBER
ARTIST
TITLE

This list is driven from MiniDLNA that underpins the WiiM solution, which I was able to verify using a friends Amp about 6 months ago.

MiniDLNA also lacks multi-value tag support, which WiiM also lacked at the time.

Thank you for the info. 👍

For greater control of the music presentation (specifically handling the SORT tags) within the WHA you're best looking at the licensed version of MinimServer.

Having said that the WHA is really quite limited (primarily around queue management) when handling local content, so if you're open to using third party controllers other options include:
  • BubbleUPnP & MinimServer
  • Symfonium & Lightweight Music Server (LMS)/Navidrome
  • Lyrion Music Server
I'm an Android user so the first two app recommendations are Android apps.

Sorry for my ignorance on the matter.
In such a scenario (eg Lyrion Music Server) I would have to have my music library locally and stream it to WiiM, or it can manage and control remotely the music I have on HDD USB attached to WiiM?

The other solutions do require an always on (assuming you want it available 24*7) NAS/RPI/Mini-PC, so with that in mind it's much better to store your collection on/attached to that machine rather than the Ultra (even if the Ultra did make the drive available on the network, which it doesn't) if only because it'll simplify the process of adding new music.
