Minimserver/app library issue

Just installed minimserver on my NAS, scanned the music in.

In Wiim app it's found the server but when I click on it, there aren't any music files. Why should I need to "rescan your music server" in the app when the minimserver is already scanned?

If I click "rescan music server" it starts at 0 and is finding the 100,000+ but then it just halts and drops back out.

Is this an issue, should I use a different media server?

It sounds like you accepted "Advanced" mode when prompted. Advanced mode copies the metadata from MinimServer in order to present a uniform view across all servers. Switch back to Legacy mode.

Hey Simbun,
If it's of any help and mind ease, I'm running Asset on my nas.
I'm having many issues. Whole house wired by cat8, library has accurate meta data All audio ripped or downloaded with accuracy.

I'm having all kinds if issues from files populating, to skipping as if it's a damaged cd, even after 90mins 9f playback i got distortion again, like it was a poor rip. Issues with adding additional tracks to play next. Basically, it doesn't, it just stops.

I've been in direct contact with wiim. They appear to have been trying (5 times so far) and once it improved, but then it got worse.

To prove it, I used bubble and absolutely faultless. So there's definitely an issue.

I've contacted my dealer and they're sending a replacement incase I have a faulty one. I spoke to Henley Audio (uk) and they seemed to agree it was firmware and to keep bugging wiim.

I'm pretty disappointed really. They keep adding "decorative items" like room eq and alike, without addressing basic functionality first.

I only want faultless playback. I have everything bypassed. It's just an end point.

I'm just trying out dnla/wiim app/upnp and seeing how it compares to lms.

It's quite poor compared to lms which works and does a better job.

Just that lms isn't detected in wiim home app

Room ew isn't decorative feature it's pretty good

I'd recommend what sinbun said.. install lms

The only LMS I'd recommend is Lightweight Music Server, but that's not compatible with the WHA either unfortunately, or at least not without the UPnP bridge.

I know constantly being told the other LMS is the best thing since sliced bread is annoying but it does work well with WiiM devices 🤣

I have used it (still have an install in a sandbox on my PC) but find Lightweight Music Server and Symfonium a better solution for local music, especially with its support for MusicBrainz artist id tags.

If I wanted to integrate other services then it might be a different story.

I think Lyrion also supports Musicbrainz tags now but I avoid them unless absolutely necessary. KISS principle 🙂
