Well I don't have any radio links but I have certainly uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and my Amp PEQ settings are still thereyou want try?
(for the little one I don't know but I had lost all my radio links...etc)
;-)
I just did it "delete data"...If you click clear cache the data will not be lost. To clear data, you need to click clear data, the application will return to the state after installation. I just cleared the cache 307 MB, everything is fine.
This is very similar to what I see and honestly I don't see anything problematic here. Most importantly I cannot see the amount of storage growing just due to app updates.app 178mo
data 129mo
cache after "empty" 242k
total 307mo
Most of the data is stored in the WiiM's internal storage, some other is stored in the WiiM Home app.I just did it "delete data"...
didn't lose my radio and my peqs
(but some preferences settings in "audio" etc not difficulte to correct..)
I was just looking for this option.... that s ok now
I think updates are downloaded straight to your device and don’t touch the app…by my non-use, it seems to me that wiim home stores the updates as they are downloaded without destroying them after their application...
I don’t believe that’s how app updates work either - when you update, a new version overwrites the old one but retains its data.for wiim home... not firmware
it's not my field...I don’t believe that’s how app updates work either - when you update, a new version overwrites the old one but retains its data.
I can't remember. It was when I wanted to revert to an older version that WiiM had allowed me to download to check something. Probably sometime in the last couple of months.the date of your last re-installation for wiim home?
I took some screenshots of the app folders contents before and after clearing the app cache and data. Seems to be a mixture of logs and downloaded album artwork. If I get time, I’ll tabulate and post my findings.Just by playing some music while displaying the WHA playback screen, the user data and cache will increase. Therefore, I think that track data accumulates in both user data and cache.
Will "Recent Searches" and "Recent Played" album art be added to user data?I took some screenshots of the app folders contents before and after clearing the app cache and data. Seems to be a mixture of logs and downloaded album artwork. If I get time, I’ll tabulate and post my findings.
Here's an example for you, my friend.as a reminder my case was particular and interesting on this point...because it is only used in radio flow without use of the display (no data)... and that for example since yesterday and the purging of data and some re-adjustments...while in use, remains stable at 11MB of data and 2MB of cache....
but hey I just invite you to observe over time after the updates of wiim home on the data storage side.... your feedback will be interesting... but better, maybe well before wiim will be able to enlighten us on this point??
in my particular case, I know now what to do now from time to time after several updates ;-)
Yes, if there is ever an increase in user data with an update, it would be when a new user settings section is added to the app. But it is probably a very small increase. Here's an example for you, my friend.
Updating from WiiM Home App 3.0.4 to WiiM Home App 3.0.6 on Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0.13 (Android 14).

There is absolutely no growth in Cache sice or User data sice due to the update. Nothing at all. Your assumption that WHA updates would result in superfluous growth of memory usage is simply not backed up by facts.
