@canard and @Steve Woodhouse, gentlemen please calm down before any action needs to be taken.
Wish you would have been so straight with this Monoxxx a few days ago@canard and @Steve Woodhouse, gentlemen please calm down before any action needs to be taken.
a classic...Go and boil your head.
You do not get to refer to people by their surname without comeback.
no problemo..@canard and @Steve Woodhouse, gentlemen please calm down before any action needs to be taken.

There is no way you can bypass the ADC for the analog input. The hardware cannot support that. And if it could you would lose everything, including the volume control. So it would basically be a wire through the WiiM.First let me apologize for not having read every post in this thread, but my own interest is in being able to bypass the Pro's ADC-DAC stages when the input is line (analog) input from a phono preamp and the output is line to my power amp (a tube amp that I designed and built myself).
I still want to use the Pro for other (digital) inputs. I've compared the DACs in the Pro and Pro Plus and can hear the difference, but since my main interest (for quality listening purposes) is the analog input from my turntable, I'm not too worried about the DAC. If I really cared about a DAC, I might go for something better, but the AK DAC in the Plus is already excellent.
The WiiM Pro is a very nice flexible device that provides a nice choice of inputs, including Internet music services like Tidal, so while I could separate the analog components out to a different preamp/control amp, the convenience is of WiiM is great and I'd rather not sacrifice that convenience for what might be insignificant sound quality.
Anyway, I haven't see the circuit topology of the Pro, so don't know if I'd lose the volume control if ADC-DAC were completely bypassed (pretty sure EQ would have to go - that must be done in the digital domain). Does anyone know if this might be a feasible future software update?
I doubt that it could be achieved in firmware, but raise a ticket direct to WiiM via the more/feedback section of the app and get their opinion.First let me apologize for not having read every post in this thread, but my own interest is in being able to bypass the Pro's ADC-DAC stages when the input is line (analog) input from a phono preamp and the output is line to my power amp (a tube amp that I designed and built myself).

Thanks, I see that the Vibelink does allow the ADC to be bypassed. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything else that I need.I don't think there is any way you can bypass the ADC for the analog input. The hardware cannot support that.
Only the WiiM Vibelink amplifier supports that.
Thank you, good suggestion. Probably right that it's not possible in firmware, but I'll ask.I doubt that it could be achieved in firmware, but raise a ticket direct to WiiM via the more/feedback section of the app and get their opinion.
What would be the benefits? It will just be like a wire running through the WiiM device.Thank you, good suggestion. Probably right that it's not possible in firmware, but I'll ask.
The vibelink isn’t a streamer though, but a power amp with the option to choose an analog or digital inputThanks, I see that the Vibelink does allow the ADC to be bypassed. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything else that I need.
A WiiM Pro or Pro Plus has other benefits that I like. What would be the benefits? It will just be like a wire running through the WiiM device.
That's right, which is why it doesn't help me. I like having a streamer with analog and digital inputs, and I already have a very good power amp with analog input. The vibelink isn’t a streamer though, but a power amp with the option to choose an analog or digital input
You cannot bypass the ADC after the analogue input of the WiiM Pro Plus, of course. But using the PocketADC you could connect your devices as follows:First let me apologize for not having read every post in this thread, but my own interest is in being able to bypass the Pro's ADC-DAC stages when the input is line (analog) input from a phono preamp and the output is line to my power amp (a tube amp that I designed and built myself).

Yes, that's a nice little device, but I'd like to avoid any domain conversion in the signal path from phono preamp out to power amp in - while still enjoying the benefits of the WiiM Pro (namely, ability to select from among several inputs (all digital, of course, including Internet music services). You cannot bypass the ADC after the analogue input of the WiiM Pro Plus, of course. But using the PocketADC you could connect your devices as follows:
Turntable analogue out == (RCA or symmetrical cable) ==> Phono pre-amp analogue in
Phone pre-amp analogue out ==(RCA cable)==> PocketDAC analogue in
PocketDAC optical out ==(optical cable)==> WiiM Pro Plus optical in
WiiM Pro Plus analogue out ==(RCA cable)==> Tube amp analogue in
