No power button on WiiM Amp Ultra—do I need a shutdown step?

Since there’s no power-off button on the WiiM Amp Ultra, is it safe to just unplug it, or is there a shutdown procedure I should follow?

Same here. I don‘t care about its status when I shut it off. This the Ultra though, not the Amp Ultra. But I wouldn‘t bother in that case either.

Do you need to do that? My WiiM Amp is never in standby when I cut the power. I normally stop playback but I don't put it in standby.
Cutting the power for an integrated amplifier while it's still playing is something I would avoid. Stopping playback should be sufficient.

Putting it to standby cannot hurt, though.

What harm could it do? I have never noticed any sounds from the speakers at switch off.

The supply voltage will drop (that's the whole point) and there's no guarantee that this is going to be smoothly. Different stages might react differently to that and increased distortion might occur. If there is a fast relay protecting the speaker outputs this might not be an issue. It's against common sense for sure to remove the power from any (and in particular computerised) device while it's working in full swing.
