Not sure if this is possible with the Ultra?

My current set up is that I have the beolab18 and 19 active speakers connected to the ultra line output, I also have a record deck and a reel to reel player connected to the inputs of the ultra and all is great, however I would like to transfer part of my vinyl collection onto the reel to reel is this possible? As I have the speakers connected, to the line output, I have tried to use the headphone output but no luck, can anyone advise?

Can you use the Ultra's optical out to your speakers instead, the headphone output is really only of use driving headphones?

Note though that the Ultra can only output to one target at a time, so you couldn't be feeding the speakers and reel-to-reel at the same time.

Thanks, Only the 18s can, as the 19 does not have the optical.
That is the problem, the Ultra can only output one target at a time, perhaps there is a way over this?
Not sure that connecting the headphone output of the Ultra to my laptop and then run to the r2r would help?

What if you branch out Ultra's lineout?

Why not feed the TT via a Phono pre-amp to the Tape deck and connect the Tape out to the Ultra input. The only downside I can see is the need to have the Tape Deck switched on to listen to the TT.

I don’t believe there’s a workaround as in the ultra’s audio output settings, you can only choose one output - if you select line out, you can’t also select headphones.

Thanks, but not sure if that is possible with my deck (Beogram 9500), I do however find that the M/M stage on the Wiim very good.

of course...
all the more so since it would be absurd to go through the ADC and then DAC digitization of the Ultra to transfer the vinyl "ana" to the "ana "reel to reel... even more so since the Ultra's phono is nothing exceptional and that there are small external phono stages that are more complete and very correct...
;-)

I had a similar "problem" with both a Cassette Player and a Minidisk.

I solved it by adding a WiiM Pro to my setup and connecting both players to the line and optical in/out of the Pro.

Using the Group feature of the WiiMs this allows copying between all attached devices. And normal output to the Amp at the same time.

The Ultra has a CD and TT attached.

Thanks, but I found that the phono stage was actually very good with a decent cartridge/stylus, I have had some success through the headphone output, but the volume level was too low, so I think it can be achieved and was wondering is there a way to increase the headphone output?

Don't think so but you could add a (cheap) DAC to the Ultra optical or USB output and connect that to the Tape.

That sounds interesting, do you know if would it be the same as the Pro+?

just buy a small phono to connect directly at the reel reel...... if to protect your vinyl in analog "pure juice"...
;-)
(ps... funny.. personally I can transfer vinyl or tape to digital but not to ana..or from digital to, for fun, "tape" if in good condition and perfectly adjusted... but from ana to ana not really, -) )

yes like i say in #10 in reponse at #5..
(otherwise stay with the ultra towards a digital medium... (where is the idea of being able to record on a USB key ,like rme on the ultra?)
