Instead of going thriough the lengths of what you are planning I would suggest that you install a network player on your mobile and use Bluetooth to your speakers from there.
For iOS foobar2000 mobile or mconnect, for Android Bubble UPnP.

BTW,
A bit of comprehensive writing would help.

You are right I misunderstood the character limit in title. Lol

I have wiim ultra in living room with large hard drive of music attached. I want to hear this music in bedroom, but my bluetooth speakers audio engine 2+ won’t pair, i assume because of wall between.

I wondered if a long range bluetooth transmitter using optical audio from wiim would work?

Answering the original question. Yes probably if the BT transmitter is good enough.

Some BT transmitters include pass through on Optical eg FiiO BTA30 or Avantree Oasis II

Have you tried placing the Bluetooth speaker next to the Ultra and attempting to pair them?
The reason for asking this question is that it may not be related to distance.

they pair when close. would a bluetooth 5.3 longer range transmitter at ultra (optical audio connection?) or might a blue tooth long range receiver at the bluetooth speakers work?

I would prefer WiFi, if your speaker has a line in a Wiim Mini for connecting to them could be a good alternative
I bought a mini on black friday sale... learned that ONLY the ULTRA in the living room with the 8TB external drive with music can see that music, so I cannot access my catalog from office

A usb drive connected to an Ultra should be seen by any WiiM device on your network under Home Music Share

Please ignore AI generated responses like I do - they can often take questions out of context and answer incorrectly.

Here’s a screenshot from my WiiM Mini’s Home Music Share where you’ll see two other WiiM devices with usb attached storage that the Mini can see.

Edit: sorry, my Ultra was switched off when I took that screenshot, so only my amp ultra usb drive shows.

Are you sure? Would be great. I assumed that the media server needs to be enabled on the WiiM Ultra to do that.
When you connect a usb drive to a WiiM device that has a usb slot, the device indexes the content and makes it visible on your network as a UPnP server.

It just does not show on wiim home app. I will go to the ultra... and look for media server and report back

ugh, now usb is showing on wiim home but input on the wiim ultra itself does not show usb in.. drive there and I feel it spinning. I give up.
