If I select 1vrms output and the volume is fixed 100%, connect wiim with rcas to the analogue input of amp, the analogue input of amp will receive the full 1vrms no matter how the volume level of the amp is set?

If I want to achieve 1.5 v how should I set volume if I set it to 2vrms ?

Doesn't the amplifier have a volume control? Setting fixed 100% output just means you are controlling volume use the amp volume control instead of digitally from the WiiM.

Line level is fixed level typically it's 2v for unbalanced.

You shouldn't need to use volt limiter

If the volume control is really linear over the entire range (I wouldn't bet on it), then a volume setting of 92 should get your from 2.0 volts to 1.5 volts.

Edit:
I would never rely on the volume setting to ensure that the next stage is not overdriven. Which device would need 1.5 V exactly for a perfect gain structure?

Hey…I don’t use the Wiim as as dac anymore . But my amp has three sensitivity settings and three different gains per setting ( low, mid , high) and for mid sensitivity the recommended input was 1.5vrms and for low 3vrms for perfect gain match. Ideally the best is the lowest gain on my amp and the highest 2v setting on Wiim . But it had the disadvantage of intersample overs compared to 1v with slightly lower sinad
