AgreedWiim used to be good on their promises but after pro was released everything seems went south.
I too would like to see a parametric EQ added, but whether or not it is added, I would like to see a more professional user interface. Perhaps more then 10 bands if only GEQ, but the current one is hard to adjust even on a larger phone. If the EQ screen allowed landscape view that would help.
The WiiM can't be everything to everyone, but I am guessing since a PEQ was "coming soon" that it is a software thing and not a needed hardware upgrade.
There are a lot of software EQs and DSPs out there with really great screens. I hope WiiM uses some of them for inspiration.
I am using the Wiim Pro with an Audiolab 7000a via Toslink and I am very happy with the Wiim Pro regarding its streaming and input management capabilities. It switches seamlessly between multiple sources without the need to switch manually which is great!
Before purchasing the Wiim Pro I read about the parametric Equalizer and I was disappointed when I found out it is missing. I measured magnitude curves of my room with the iOS app "House Curve" and would like to use the generated equalizer settings with my Wiim Pro which does not work currently.
The current equalizer is way to inaccurate since frequencies and Q values are fixed.
The support team responded with a PEQ.
It is scheduled for late July.
Thx!
Boosting by 10dB and more is always a good idea and recommended.
Don‘t worry headroom is set to 10dB so there is no clipping.Boosting by 10dB and more is always a good idea and recommended.![]()
At least. But filling up those notches usually doesn't work properly. The more power you put in the more power is eaten up by the notch. Those notches are like black holes. Most likely the simulated frequency response doesn't show the truth.
