Hi!
This has been in the "we may work on it in the future" list for some time now. Is there any progress on it?
Many of us have their entire CD collection ripped in FLAC on one cloud service or another, it would be great if there was direct support from the Wiim Home app.

Thank you! 😊

Agreed. I have been waiting patiently for this functionality too.
Rather than finding ways to have a server at home to access local ripped music (which would likely need to be powered 24/7) this would be a great alternative.

What expectations do you have of such functionality, just a basic folder browser?

Any sort of functionality would be great. In an ideal world it would work like the excellent iOS CloudBeats app.
I downloaded that app and even from using the free version, it does look good…

I was going to ask how long it took to index from cloud storage, although it only really needs the first x00KB of each file (if it contains embedded artwork).

I looked briefly at cost and you're looking around £6 a month, which isn't too bad, although it's a chunk towards a streaming service.

Pricing seems ambiguous - this page suggests a one-off purchase (which seems to be £8.99) but the app description does talk about a $6.99 a year (not month) recurring subscription, but that price may vary from country to country…

Sorry that's my bad, I was looking at the cost of cloud storage not the app.

Bubbleupnp (android) seems to support a few cloud drives - google drive, box, dropbox, onedrive.
Not tried it myself to comment more on it though.

I bought the CloudBeats app around a decade ago (16GB iPhone!) and have used it ever since for my lossless music uploaded to cloud storage. It has the advantage of either allowing streaming or downloading of tracks for offline use. It was a one-off purchase, at least it was back then. There’s 2 similar apps so be careful to choose the right one.

Cloud-based playback offers convenience and accessibility like never before. No more worrying about storage limits or device compatibility. Just upload your content to the cloud, and enjoy seamless streaming from anywhere, anytime. It's a game-changer for modern media consumption.

I use it bubbleup to play my music on DropBox to my Onkyo receiver using dlna - works pretty well, but does not recognize all the formats I've used over the years when I ripped music, so can't play everything. Was hoping Wiim might have similar or better functionality but so far, I don't see it.

Have you enabled FFmpeg audio decoding in BubbleUPNP settings under renderers? Which file types aren't being handled?

Playing and browsing my music collection from OneDrive with Wiim in the same way as I do with CloudPlayer on Android would be awesome. This is THE one feature I'm still missing as I don't use streaming apps on a regular basis.

Given we are close to the first anniversary of this thread, I doubt this functionality is as much of a priority to WiiM as it is to the likes of us.

Have you tried using a url for your onedrive share and adding that as a NAS location in the Wiim home app ?

I don't own a Wiim product yet because there is still no official support for streaming personal music collections from OneDrive. Since this makes up >95% of how I enjoy listening to music it doesn't make sense for me to get a Wiim at this point.
Right now I'm better off with a dedicated Android device connected to my amp which I would really love to upgrade from with a decent streamer such as Wiim Ultra.

I'd appreciate if anybody here was willing to test if adding a OneDrive directory as a NAS location works as streaming solution with Wiim.

The android Bubbleupnp app apparently supports onedrive, so I'd expect you could use that to cast to the wiim.
Not got onedrive myself to test it.
Don't know if tbe free version will let you try it (to your local devicel, but worth a shot?

I regularly use mconnect free, both on android and ios, to check at home what I mixed and mastered on studio and uploaded on onedrive. Reproduction is bit perfect and no need to move any mass storage...
Didn't try as regular music library so I can't say if could be user friendly..

But in that case I would still need an Android device in order to stream music to the Wiim, right?
And the same applies to the mconnect solution, correct @merifon?

My idea is to let the streamer access OneDrive without the need of any other device and to use the Wiim Home app on my phone only as a remote control.

My current situation in the living room is this. I use my phone to stream music to my amp. This approach has two major downsides:
a) audio compression and
b) music only works when I'm around and nobody calls

So I want to improve the setup with a dedicated device that streams my music library with high quality from OneDrive.
One option would be a dedicated Android tablet connected to the amp (via USB or wireless depending on the use case).
The other - more elegant - option would be a Wiim (as long as it is able to access my music library).
I don't see why I would use both an Android device and a Wiim.
