Have you already tried your WiiM Ultra with an external DAC?

^I have the ability to use phase correction in FIR with my miniDSP Flex Eight (that's my "DAC" btw. I use the Ultra analog output for my headphone amp). Phase is close to flat with correction, and the impulse response more precise (no correction is possible below ca. 100 Hz because of 2048 taps available and 96 kHz Fs). I had a visitor to listen blind to one classical track (he could hear the change due to muting but I didn't give any clues to what he should listen for) to without and with phase correction. He said that one of them yelded a deeper sound stage. That was was the setting without correction.
I can understand why people prefer inferior playback. Hell, I have a turntable myself...

I have a MHDT Stockholm v2 DAC and I found a big improvement which wasn't unexpected. The Ultra's DAC is surprisingly decent for the price.

Yes, the ADept is very good. I use the line level input for my modest Yamaha CD player while I dream of one of their discontinued SACD players.

Seems to be very close to ADI-2/4 in terms of the ADC quality. And much more advanced for phono usage.

can be a nice addition to the ucx (see sound card for a few tens of dollars or less), smart adc asy+sym and...phono ... ;-)

It's surprising that there aren't more reactions and questions about it... if this confirms, it s "a nice splash in the ocean"...

(but even the small pocket for just a line in 2v asym)
