This is only partially true about power supplies and routers. They can, of course, but they're often limited by the device's price. Otherwise, power supplies and routers of varying complexity would cost the same. And the charger included with the Pro Plus clearly demonstrates this. After all, aren't engineers the ones who design expensive devices?

Are you suggesting a router that moves data at Gbs reliably isn't suitable for digitized audio at 10s of Mbs?

I've read that people often find pitch black rooms and anechoic chambers disorienting and uncomfortable. A little light and a little noise provide a missing orientation point that feels more comfortable to some. That's fine if that's you. The WPP measures 114 dB SINAD with the stock power supply - i.e. noise and distortion are inaudible. How is an external power supply going to improve on inaudible, unless it's adding some noise that you (for your own reasons) prefer to hear? It's OK if you prefer the higher noise. A lot of people like vinyl in part because of its characteristic background noise. But many people, myself included, prefer to hear just the music.
