fip is a "variety" type radio but there is a bouquet of thematic radio...and the parent company "radio france -france musique" another bouquet....

a political decision of the big players of French streaming seem to have decided to put forward "radioplayer" and its own format..it would be good if wiim home could support it...
very suitable for mobility..one wonders if the decision is to discreetly bypass the dab stage ( effective but really very limited audio side) which has not yet really been installed in France etc....

Try playing them in VLC and check what it reports as the bitrate.

Well, the link of the 192 and the 288 kbps are identical. As far as I’m aware, the 192 kbps aac stream is the best quality you can get for any fip station

Correct.
Funny thing is that they are both aac 32k which I found out by playing them through VRadio app.
The other link for 192k is fine, the one from the icecast server:

So, no 288 kbps here, sorry for bringing some hopes

Whether it's FIP radios or France-Musique radios "...RadioFrance,
for the moment (and unfortunately for several years now), the most stable option remains their Icecast 192k AAC streams...
they still haven't pushed to 320k mp3 on classical music channels (even their own productions from their two orchestras, etc.) or Ocora... acoustic music...
Really too limited.
It's quite shameful for such an institution...

(And political pressures tend to try , in "hertzien",to impose DAB+, which is lagging behind in France... "digital quality", forgetting to mention, to explain, that in France the maximum is 88k aac+, corresponding to more or less 128k MP3... (some countries have 92k that do a little better)
