Setting a pre-set as default to play

Is it possible to set a preset as a default to play, in other words whenever I press the play button it automatically plays pre-set 1.

I'm using an old Mini in a bedroom just for radio, plugged into an amp.
I did set the preset to play and then stopped it when I was done and a couple of days later came to switch it on again, I pressed the play button and nothing happened .... I then went to get my phone and use the app to start playing preset 1 again but I just want a one touch option as I head to the shower rather than having to go and get my phone which isn't normally in the room at the time.

I though they'd automatically just play the last function but for some reason it'd moved away from that.

Any help appreciated.

I hear that. I think the problem might be that Wiim devices reboot every few days and auto update too so currently that won't work.
It's a good idea though. Send some feedback through the app menu.

You can pair a WiiM remote (the original or new metal one) to a Mini. Then you have 4 dedicated preset buttons to be able to instantly play 8 different (by double tapping) presets.
It is true that a WiiM will forget what is was playing previously after an update and/or reboot. I'm also with you that it would be great if it just came back to what was playing.

As @HansD-NL suggested, it seems an additional remote is needed.
The Pro has preset buttons, but the Mini does not...

Cheers all ... shame it won't work as I'd hoped, I do have a spare remote that came with a Pro Plus that I've never used so could pair it with that but was hoping not to have another remote lying around.

I will send feedback though the app at some stage as I think it'd be really useful and seems a few others may like it as well.
