So, I bought a couple of Wiim Amp Ultras last week and I have one in my living room for TV and movies as well as music.

My previous setup was a Sonos Amp, which had two play 1s as the surrounds.

In the sonos app I was able to specify that I wanted the surround speakers to be off when the input was streaming music and standard volume for when audio was playing via arc.

How do I do this in the Wiim app?

Basically I want to make sure I get stereo with sub for music and surround for TV/movis

How do you plan to integrate your surround speakers in the first place?
I don‘t think you can pair Sonos speakers with a WiiM.
Oh I forgot half of the info.

I bought a Wiim amp normal and some passive surround speakers. :)

I have it chained and I get audio from the right channels etc.

I am just wondering how I tell it when I want to use only the front speakers and sub (i.e. for music) and the 4.1 setup for movies and TV.

Hi,
Please refer to this guide first.

Here's a brief explanation.
Link two Amp Ultra units via the WiiM app to form a group. Tap the link icon in the top-right corner of the device card for the WiiM connected to your TV to create the group.

Play Dolby 5.1ch video on your TV.

When you open the WiiM app's playback screen during playback, the 5.1 icon will be displayed.

On the next screen, enabling Dolby will configure the WiiM devices linked to the group as surround speakers.

When listening to music, either mute the WiiM device designated for surround sound. Or unlink them from the group. In this case, creating a group again and playing a 5.1ch source will automatically reconfigure the surround group.

You can also create permanent groups.

Currently, manual switching is required, but once the 'Input Sound Profile' feature, currently in beta testing on Ultra, is added in the future, group switching will occur automatically alongside input switching.

Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
