Specifically for the TV App

Radio Paradise do also work from the WiiM Home App. This is because it is not a real radio station but a stream that is playing individual tracks with time information (like a playlist).
What's a 'real' radio station in 2026? I'd wager that even North Korea Radio 1 is broadcast via 'recorded" playlists including the news 📻😁

The difference here is that a continuous stream, as most radio stations use, don't contain timing information. A playlist and a service like Radio Paradise do.

I'm pretty sure that Radio Paradise consider themselves to be a very real radio station. ;) A radio station using up-to-date technology.

They cast 7 different channels, manually curated, they pay the royalties for all the music they broadcast, and they offer you to skip a limited number of tracks (but you cannot move backwards through the timeline). By my personal standards they qualify as a radio station.

You can if you’re playing radio via Lyrion, the WiiM tv app will then show lyrics. Just doing that with the excellent Radio Paradise Mellow Mix.
1777821789792.jpegI searched for a discussion of Radio Paradise and how the WiiM [Apple] TV app fails to show lyrics on Radio Paradise tracks while it's streaming by my WIiM Ultra. Apparently, the track metadata is skewed in such a way, that the TV app fails to ID the track and find the lyrics.

I inadvertently discovered that if I use the Radio Paradise Apple TV app to play the FLAC stream through my Ultra via HDMI, there are definately no lyrics (Just "HDMI" and fixed bit-rate info ;-). But when I also played the stream to a WiiM mini out in my shop via AirPlay, showing the WiiM mini's status on the WiiM TV app displays Album art + Title - Artist - [StreamName-In-Lieu-of-Album; i.e: 'Mellow Mix'] and lyrics!

I now gather that Lyrion provides a similar Lyric-enabling metadata rearrangement:cool:.
