Google cast doesn’t mean lower quality - it can deliver up to 24/192 lossless on the Pro compared to 320kbps lossy Spotify.

Have you downloaded the latest Spotify app that fixed the Connect issue for others?

Ah you're right ofcourse. I thought that google cast recompressed audio, but I was mistaken (unless you cast an external device's audio output). Seems that there is no difference in audio quality based on which protocol you select from within the Spotify app.

Read the thread. This is a Spotify issue and the WiiM support team even replied on page 1.

yes the spotify connect problem is fixed even with google cast enabled. I have the choice of both. However google assistant still does not work to control spotify on wiim but it works fine to control it on other google cast devices

Android assistant can control Spotify using Spotify Connect on other Spotify Connect targets, that also support Googlecast but are not using it for Spotify, but not when the WiiM Pro is selected as a Spotify Connect target?

Isn't all this interaction completely independent of WiiM's software?
