Spotify Spotify Lossless is here, it's official!

Italy is happy with Spotify lossless. Today is that day. :-)
Just tested some 24bit / 44.1kHz tracks on WiiM Ultra and Cambridge Audio MXN10 with no issues - just cleared the cache as advised - to validate it works. Analytical listening to come later.

I've just tried on my Wiim Mini.
Of course, it is faaaar superior to OGG but compared with Qobuz, I really can hear the difference between a 16 and 24 bit encoded track. Doesn't mean it's bad, it means that it doesn't sound as warm as Qobuz or even Tidal.
Voices, bass, or all instruments are getting more details and more space with Qobuz.

Kinda disappointed. I'll stick with Qobuz, and keep Spotify for podcasts and audiobooks.

Lossess on Spotify is ok in France.
First try with a album of King Hannah, a message told me sorry lossless is not available for this content.
Picking other artists and albums, 16/44 for most of them.
No find 24 bits material so far.

Qobuz still m'y first choice for music.

@wimmer posted to say there’s a “Spotify Lossless 24-bit” playlist

I had just listening this, not so bad.
I would use only one streaming provider and Qobuz for so many criterias is m'y first choice.

But before i'll quit Spotify, i'll have to find a good Podcast reader and manage with my teenagers.
For them and their friends Spotify is the only one.

First feedback on devices... I'd have not guessed that, but after one year on Qobuz and one month with Qobuz Connect, find the Spotify Connect little bit a pain. On my devices, I can use Lossless only on WiiM and CA, while all Google/Nest devices are limited to 320 Ogg, disappointing as Google Cast can go above. Find more informative and convenient the Qobuz way of handling capabilities, while Spotify is hiding almost all details until you try to use something not supported.
Content wise I'm pleased that once I setup Lossless I could find anything I was searching from my library in 16bit FLAC, assumed less coverage at "day 1".

Quality will need some time, weekend I'm looking to you ;)

You can hear a difference between a 16 and 24 bit recording? Impressive. I’d love to see a blind test though.
