Spotify Spotify Lossless is here, it's official!

Can someone who has this advise what happens with items already stored in your Library. Do you automatically get a 24/44.1 version if available?

It will play whatever quality you set in your settings with the possible exception of downloaded music.

Currently, most songs appear to be 16bit/44.1kHz.

(Spotify Connect with the latest firmware Ultra )

It still operates erratically and occasionally disconnects from the device.
However, operability is as comfortable as before. There is no delay in operation 😄

Of interest is that the sound quality settings in the Spotify app are greyed out while connected to the WiiM; it is possible that lossless playback is not yet active on the WiiM device side.

I'd be surprised if WiiM devices supported it without some change in the API - unless they've already done that and there's an embargo on them saying they support it until an official Spotify release announcement. Guess you might be able to tell if your WiiM is connected to a device that shows the bitrate...
Hi Burnside, Team

Great news—Spotify Lossless is already supported on all WiiM devices! This feature has been integrated into our firmware for some time, so you can start enjoying it right away. Give it a try and share your listening experience with us. Enjoy the music!

'quality' setting in the ios app is greyed out when streaming to another device than ipad or iphone. never noticed that before. still no 'lossless' here.

Thanks, it was already noticeable but the WiiM app doesn't give any info at all about the stream. Why is that? Will it be fixed? Of course I can live without it but still.

They stated earlier in a response to my question that they had everything set and ready to go for when it would launch eventually. Need to do a deep search... 😀

Don’t recall that or I would have quoted it.
Here you go ;) But seems like they've just re-confirmed it above. Sorry, I'm just a bit excited (no sign of losless in my app yet)
Here's hoping for a quick rollout: byebye Tidal!

I can hardly remember last week! ;)

Honestly I would have read that as an intention not a confirmation that they actually had done whatever might be necessary to support it. No matter, we have the confirmation now :)

Good to hear! Let me try it out on my Ultra and I can drop my Tidal subscription. Even though I like Tidal, Spotify has a better GUI and better support for 3rd parties...

Since today I seem to have access to Spotify Lossless and I’m excited to try it out. However, I want to make sure it really is what it claims to be. As you can see in the screenshot, the WiiM app doesn’t display any bitstream information. Is there another reliable way to verify the actual audio quality (sample rate/bit depth) that’s being streamed?

EDIT: After carefully listening to a few songs, I must say the highs in particular sound so much better. I hope it becomes available for you too, either right now or very soon.

EDIT 2: It's official -> https://newsroom.spotify.com/2025-0...-a-richer-more-detailed-listening-experience/
The desktop app for Windows erroneously will show the bitrate for Spotify, at least right now.
