Just thought I would share my solution

After many reboots, cache clears etc I still couldn't get lossless to work on my Pro Plus.

I hit up Google and found that Chromecast doesn't support lossless audio as it compresses all streams.

So I went into settings on Wiim home and disabled Chromecast and went back to Spotify App and the Spotify Connect logo showed up for the Wiim and I can now use lossless.

To think Ive been using Chromecast into Meridian DSP7200s all this time as well...

Hope this helps

Steve

Certainly, I am clearly aware of that but, this being a thread dedicated to the problem, it seemed useful to provide an update that it hadn't been resolved yet. Thanks, however, for the clarification

Anyone find a workaround yet for getting Spotify Connect to show up if Chromecast is enabled in the Wiim App? Wiim says it's a Spotify issue, Spotify thinks it's a Wiim issue, some people think it's an Android issue. I just wanna be able to play YT Music and Spotify (lossless)......

UGH. Then why don't I see it when I'm on an iPad?

Exactly. It is even more strange. On my Android on a Samsung S24 Ultra, it is not working with my Spotify account. When I change the Spotify Account to my kids account on the that phone in the same network it works.

So from my tests it is 100 % caused by Spotify and even there not all accounts are affected. So hard to believe how that could be any kind of rediculess feature.

Yes, there are at least 3 workarounds:

(These are three different workarounds, not three steps!)
1. As I mentioned before, create a WiiM-Group (no Google Cast Group with the same name!) if you have more than one WiiM device, Spotify will connect to that group via Spotify Connect.
2. Disconnect from your WiFi before playing on Spotify, your WiiM(s) will be shown anyway and will be connected via Spotify Connect. As soon, as playback started, you can switch your WiFi on again, it'll stay on Spotify Connect.
3. Use an older Version of Spotify via APK, e.g. 9.080.1320

Anyway, I hope WiiM will increase pressure on Spotify to get this done the normal way, too.

I can't believe number 2 works. LOL. How did you figure that out!? :-)

Although 2 works, I think I'll give 3 a try to avoid the extra steps. Are you using APKMirror to download it? Is 9.080.1320 the best version?
