My Wiim is currently getting optical in from my tv and passing that to my soundbar. When I'm not playing music on it, it would be nice to have my soundbar capable of playing 5.1 audio.

On a related note, it would also be awesome if it could support LG's audio sync feature which would allow my tv to adjust the wiim's volume. Or heck, just make a wiim pro v2 with hdmi in/out with cec and none of these would matter!

I have locally stored 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus audio .mp4 files on my UPnP server. I would like to be able to stream over DNLA to my soundbar via the Wiim Pro digital out so I can listen to 5.1 sound.

My Samsung soundbar has a WiiM Pro on the digital optical input, so I want the WiiM to support 5.1 bitstream pass through. The soundbar supports 5.1 as DTS, Dolby Digital, DD Plus and compressed Dolby Atmos via the optical input.

5.1 music usually sounds better that the equivalent stereo from the soundbar.
