If I use the Tidal App and cast to my WiiM via Tidal connect it works fine but if I cast to Chromecast there's no sound output.
Looking in the WiiM app you can see it's playing the track but there's no sound.

I've checked Chromecast is enabled on the WiiM and it is ..... it's not just with one device, there's a 2nd one in another room.

I know it's not Chromecast but I also have the WiiM setup as a preferred speaker for an Alexa Dot and it works fine with voice commands.

Anyone any ideas?

@Witterings
It's unusual to see a wiim as a both a tidal connect and chromecast option in tidal.
Are you chromecasting to a chromecast (google home) group?
Are you chromecasting to the leader of a wiim group and not getting sound on the follower?

Thanks for the replies guys, last night I thought I'd try and re-boot them and see if it made a difference and all of a sudden they're working fine, I didn't think to try this before as I could see in the WiiM App that they were playing and it also worked using Tidal Connect so didn't think it'd be needed.
I have however upgraded some bits on my network (new mesh system) so maybe that was something to do with it but still "strange" it worked on Connect but not Chromecast.

Yes definitely showing both and post reboot will play to either, I'm also using Chromecast in groups as you can't create groups for Tidal Connect which is a great shame.

But you can create a non-persistent wiim group and tidal connect to the leader and all in the group play.

I've had a look at this .... I have 3 devices, Kitchen, Lounge & Garden and those are their individual names. I've set up 2 groups, both of which Kitchen is the lead, one group is Kitchen and Lounge and is called Both, the other group is all 3 and is just called All.

If I go into Tidal (which is what I'm currently subscribed to), Amazon Music or Qobuz these groups aren't listed in the cast options ... Spotify however they are listed and can either pick an individual player or either of the groups.

I can go and open the WiiM App as well, and in the devices tab, select what looks like a paperclip on the main device and then select one of the groups but I'm guessing with Tidal (and the others) this is the only way I can do it?

Yes it works but it's a bit of a pain compared to just selected the group from Spotify and being able to instantly switch to a single player without having open up a 2nd App.

Interested to know if I'm missing anything although must admit I'm becoming more and more tempted to move to Spotify just because of it's usability and compatibility.

Yes.
This is what I meant by a non-persistent group (sorry, I didn't explain it further).
Another way to quickly access a persistent group, or create a group on the fly, is to select the device name in the wiim app's Now Playing screen.
