Tutorials for WHA

These are great @Wiimer !
Ok, so now you are just showing off. 😂😂🤣
These videos should be added to the support pages and @Wiimer should be rewarded with free stuff.😂😂 👍 @RyanWithWiiM
I'll make sure Wiimer's properly showered with free stuff :) We're very thankful for his contributions!

And yes, we'll be making more How To videos. The documentation team has been working on adding more videos to the FAQs and they'll be looking for suggestions on content. So if there are any steps that anyone thinks needs a basic video put together for, let me know!

Thanks @RyanWithWiiM ☺️

In addition to the basic manual, it would be helpful to have purpose-specific video manuals covering presets, HDMI CEC, Auto-Sensing etc..

These are examples of how presets can be used:

  • Use the preset button to switch input and output simultaneously.
  • Apply different EQ settings to each input/output.
  • Play a sleep playlist at low volume before bed and stop it after one hour.

Furthermore, adding the Sound Profile feature expands capabilities and increases complexity. Many users would find purpose-specific manuals helpful for this as well.

Are there existing videos and if so how can I access them?

Thanks for the info, my go to education tutorial site is YouTube and I would have expected WiiM to have utilised that for any video tutorials. It seems a few others here were not aware of existing videos as well. Can some sort of sticky notifications or better yet a subforum for video tutorials be set up?

Thanks Ryan, might I suggest some sort of announcement as a sticky notifying us it has been done and I suggest all manuals have the same notification in a prominent position as well.

A link to the YouTube site from the WiiM Home App, as the current "Help Center" option, would be a great way to have the videos available.

Please don't take my comments as anything other than trying to make it easier for people like me to be aware of any video tutorials. Making and posting the videos is a waste if others don't know they are available thus my suggestion that

I have managed to install the Mini and there is no way I would have done it without the help from this thread so thanks to all for the help. The one big stumbling block I came across was setting pre-sets for the music folder my wife will use on our NAS and the radio station she listens to. There is absolutely no way she could navigate any deeper into WHA than favorites so I will call it done. I think the section of the manual for pre-sets needs a total re-write and the installation set up pages could do with some work as well in a couple of places.

Have you tried setting bookmarks (“star”) for the NAS folders? They appear just under Home Music Share once you have “starred” them when first browsing your NAS

I can see the star but exactly what does that do, make it a favorite? I generally browse my music by folder or use some fairly large playlist I have assembled from those folders.

It creates an entry under Browse/Home Music Share/Bookmarks. Think of them as shortcuts to folders etc on your NAS which take you directly to that subfolder without having to navigate your way from the top level folder all the way down. Guess it’s a sort of favourite, but it doesn’t appear in the favourites tab per se.

Thanks, I will give it a go. My music is catalogued by folder using the ARTIST'S NAME>Disc Name so LP/CD folders by name are all seen individually no more than one folder deep. Organising music is a discussion I would like to have in another thread as I had many hundreds of CD's I ripped to FLAC and then got rid of all the discs some years ago when I first starting using a SONOS system now consigned to the bin.
