My Ultra will not connect to my Nest Pro Wi-Fi 6gHz network. 5 gHz works fine, and other devices in my house connect to 6G, but my Ultra only "sees" the 5 gHz network.
Yes, I've turned off the "5 gHz only" option in the app and it makes no difference.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I have a vague memory that WiiM need to update it to support 6e and that’s not been done yet. Best asking WiiM directly by submitting a ticket thru the more/feedback section in the app.

Using 2G WiFi signal is actually the best. The speed is fine for audio streaming and coverage is better than for higher frequencies.

As part of the spec and feature, it should be working out of the box whether you use it or not. It’s part of its design and feature you pay for.

Doesn't look like it.. and there's no option for now.

600Mbps is plenty fast though 😀

Just received my Ultra today went to connect it to my wifi 6E router but no joy, just came across this post and am really surprised that it is not yet available?, seems all the marketing etc mentions 6E as a major selling point am quite disappointed but apart from that loving the Ultra.

To me, this is pure customer deception. If the 6E module isn't on the board, it won't connect using software alone, as it's unlikely to be possible. Those who claim they've connected haven't proven it. So, in my opinion, it's just a fairy tale for the gullible.

What is the real benefit for our audio use and our very low bandwidth requirements?

At least on my Amp Ultra, I previously succeeded in connecting to 6E.

I recommend submitting a ticket via the feedback section in the WiiM app.

Just because the WiiM can connect to a access point that supports 6E it may not use the 6GHz frequency. The router will use the "band steering" feature to change to the 5GHz band, if that is the only one supported by the client.

You will need to verify the frequency by a WiFi analyzer or directly on the router (if possible).

Anyway, the 2GHz frequency is the optimal for sound streaming and the other frequencies should only be used if there is too much interference on the 2GHz band.

The SSID connected here is configured on the router for 6GHz only. Band steering is also turned off, and my router has four SSIDs.

Can you connect to the same access point with a device (phone) that doesn't support 6E?

No, my Galaxy Tab S8 Plus does not display the SSID. (This model does not support 6GHz in Japan.)

I guess Ultra has not received approval for 6GHz in JP. I need to check again, but when I looked previously, it was not approved. (Similarly, depending on the region, it may not be possible to connect to 6GHz.)

As usual, I checked the regulatory status in JP using Gemini.
It appears that two modules, A98D and W98, have received 6GHz approval.

However, since this is an indoor permit, I can't use WiiM's 6GHz in my garden. Well, my house doesn't have a big garden, and of course there's no pool, so it's no problem.😅

It was advertised that supports 6e and many of their wiim devices also advertised it. It has nothing to do whether its low bandwidth or not but it was advertised it supports it.
