Ultra Optical Input Issue

I am streaming Apple Airplay to my Ultra optical in via a Raspberry Pi with Ropiee and a hat for digital coax audio out- t I also have a coax to spdif optical converter since the Ultra doesn't have a coax input.

It worked fine for months and just stopped. Now I can't figure out which component is bad (Ultra, Hat, Converter). Any suggestions ?? The red laser light is on and all connections seem tight.

That did it- thanks again. I narrowed it down to the Allo circuit board. I bought a new board on line for only $24.
And I installed the new hat (JustBoom Digi Hat) just now and it doesn't work either. My Raspberry Pi or the software must be the problem.

I have other Raspi Pi's but they are not an easy switch.

What software are you running on the RPi? Could be a setting got wonky. Also easy enough to burn another SD card and reboot the Pi with that. I find that every now and then a SD card can get flaky.

I took another identical RP4 I had and swapped the SD cards, etc and it now it worked. There was something wrong with the Raspberry Pi. I now have two good RP hats !!!

The software I use is Ropieee and it can be used for Roon, Plex, DLNA, Airplay (1 or 2) and Squeeze.

The RP4 I used was running Home Assistant and doesn't need audio out....so I took the bad RP4 and tried it and it works fine. So the digital audio to the hat was bad in the defective Raspberry Pi but it works fine as a home assistant controller.
