Hello.
Do you know if there's a way to make the WiiM Ultra's volume wheel feel the same as the WiiM Vibelink Amp? The latter is infinitely better feel, plus you don't have to turn it as much to adjust the volume.
It would be nice if, since they're from the same brand, they had the same scrolling and volume control logic.

The feel i supose its imposible😂, but in ultra to change de volume 1 step, its necesary to turn the wheel 45 degrees, its very unconfortable... It'll be better turning only 10 degrees like in Vibelink

I find it much better to use the remote control, set to operate in increments of 5, or even the app with the Ultra, and I have never used the Ultra touch screen, other than to glance at it occasionally.

The WiiM Vibelink Amp employs a physical potentiometer, the WiiM Ultra does not, so it's close to impossible to get exactly the same feel from both (in particular the end stop).

WiiM did implement configurable volume steps per click for the WiiM remote and I seem to remember that they considered a similar configuration option for the turn knob. However, it doesn't look as if demand for that feature was high enough to keep the topic cooking.

@Lucanorillo, you can always send your request as feedback through the WiiM Home app (More => Feedback).

What I don't like (but that's not only with the Ultra control wheel but with more amps that use encoding instead of a "normal" pot, is that my brains say you should only have a ~320 degree rotation from 0 to max.

Hey... we talked about it... but has the balance of the channels been observed since then depending on the position on the amplifier's potentiometer?

;-)

The WiiM Ultra volume knob feel is plain embarrassing. Like, WiiM should be embarrassed, when I use it I’m embarrassed, and they’ll never tell me, but I swear my guests are embarrassed (for themselves, me, and WiiM) when they use it. Embarrassment all around. Ok, ok, maybe that’s overboard, but I can’t believe they let it go to production like it is.

I get that the price comes with certain compromises, but WiiM pulled out all the stops to make it feel like there aren’t any, and then slapped the absolutely worst volume knob I think could possible exist on their otherwise impeccable hardware.

I have never used the volume knobat all, never felt the need to get up, walk across the room and bend down to use a rotary knob when I can use the app or remote control. I guess I'll never bother trying it now I know how sh*tty it is. 😁

Obviously! But if the wheel is there... it must work like you expect... or simply put it off 😉

Which amp? The WiiM Vibelink Amp? No, I didn't measure channel balance yet. The Ultra's channel balance is obviously perfect. :)

Well, obviously it does work like they expect it to. ;)

Did you send feedback through the WiiM Home app yet, requesting configuration options for the behaviour of the volume knob? They did respond to requests about the behaviour of the remote.

yes ...vibelink ...."amplifier"
(how to investigate what the ana input gives in different circumstances )
