Ultra Power On Volume?

Is there a way to set the Power On Volume on the Ultra? I would like to set the volume low at powerup so you don’t get blasted if the previous session was loud.

My Yamaha RN800A has that feature and its convenient and necessary with digital controls. In the Analog days I got in the habit of turning the volume knob before powering up.

Hi,
I’ve requested this feature several times, but it hasn’t been implemented yet. It probably won’t be implemented in the future either.

For now, there are a few workarounds.

1. Use a preset to lower the volume.
Get into the habit of pressing the preset button on your remote first thing every morning.


2. Use an Alexa Routine.
Create an Alexa Routine to lower the volume at the same time every night. You don’t need an Echo device. This is the easiest method—anyone can do it with just an Amazon account and the Alexa app.

I forgot one more thing.

3. Use Ultra’s alarm feature.
Use Ultra’s alarm to lower the volume every night or every morning. You can also play a silent track.

Would there be any general interest for the duration option to offer running another preset when the duration lapses?

The preset's operation may become complex, potentially causing issues. I'm not sure but interested.

Edit… I see no alarm option to change output settings. I do see where an alarm can run a preset, but if I wanted the alarm to use an existing preset, “switch output to coax”, the list available to the alarm shows that they’re all empty…(?)

You can't set an empty preset as an alarm. If you use a streaming service, please search for and play a silent track...
