Upgrade from Mini to Ultra? (or Node N132)

My next question concerns connecting the streamer to the amplifier.

Currently, I can only use an analog RCA input, as my existing amplifier doesn't support anything else.

Would it be better (in terms of sound) to use an amplifier with HDMI and/or optical inputs and use one of the two inputs accordingly?

Indeed.
Else you (the OP) may as well just use the mini optical out into an external dac then on to the current amp, or a different dac/amp that has optical input.
But then the question becomes whether the new dac/amp is better than using analog from a pro plus or ultra!

HDMI on the Ultra is as far as I understand input only.
Keep your amp.

My amp ist 16 years old (Vintage ) but still working fine an has enough Power, 2 x 80 Watt at 8 Ohm.
So I will kep it.
