Using line in and wifi on the Wiim pro

Hello, I am a Wiim pro newbie and have my record player (with built-in pre amp) connected to line in on the Wiim pro. I also have the Wiim configured to receive wifi streams through Chromecast. How can I easily switch between the two? It seems that if I have been listening to a chromecast stream and then want to put on an LP to listen to, I have to open the Wiim home app and go to the settings for the device to change it to line in. Surely this can't be correct? Any advice, or explanation would be welcome!

Hi, welcome.

There are primarily two methods.

1) Enable "Auto-sensing of Line In" in the Audio Input section of the device settings. This will automatically switch the input to Line-in when you play a record.

However, this method may cause the opening sounds of the record to be cut off. If this does not work, please try the presets.



2) Open the Presets screen in your device settings and tap the three-dot icon to the right of an empty preset.



Settings on the preset edit screen:

1) Enter a preset name.
2) Change the input to Line-in.
3) Tap the Save button.



Now, pressing this preset button will switch the input to Line-in.

Presets can be accessed via the Pro device button or the 'Favourites' section in the WiiM app. If you have a remote, you can also use the preset button on the remote.

The input selection is also available on the Browse page in the WiiM Home App.

You can customize what inputs you will have available there and you can edit the page to have the input on the top if you prefer.

If you have a remote for the WiiM, you can also change input with that. There is a dedicated input switch button on it.
