Using RoomFit

I used RoomFit for the first time and the process was pretty easy. But I have a question about how to know if it is being used or not.

In the RoomFit Dialog it says RoomFit is on and I select the correct profile to use.

However, when I go to the playing now screen, the equalizer icon on the bottom right says Off. If I click on that I can select either EQ or PEQ, but there is no option for RoomFit. With Roomfit On, does the equalizer icon do anything? It seems like it should have a Roomfit option to select in addition to EQ and PEQ, without having to go back into the RoomFit dialog.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, eq is applied on top of any roomfit being applied.

Can't say I disagree for clarity, but the intention is that roomfit 'fixes' your room issues so is a setting you'd (ideally!) set and forget.

Thanks for the clarification.

I would say that EQ and PEQ are also setting you set and forget and yet you can change them on the fly when playing. For a first time user having EQ and PEQ but not RoomFit as options is confusing.

Well, it might be, for instance, that you're listening to a podcast and want to be able to easily / quickly apply the 'Vocal Boost' eq at that time and then reset it to your usual eq later.
imo not quite as set and forget as roomfit, depending on how diverse your use is.
But yes, for me it's really just music so one-off.

Thread 'Smart Preset option for RoomFit'

I'd like a way to assign different RoomFit profiles to preset buttons on the remote control. My previous room correction settings were moved to RoomFit with the latest update, so I'm no longer able to choose them with smart presets or from the "Now Playing" screen.

I use two different RoomFit profiles, one for sitting in the sweet spot and one for reclining on my daybed, which is against the wall with "boomier" low frequencies and different distances to stereo speakers.

Maybe an additional option for this can be added to Smart Presets similar to the pull-down choices for other settings...
