Volume needs better fine tuning and control to prevent HIGH volume "accidents".

In my multiroom adventures with WiiM the only big problem that i'm running into is proper volume control and preventing accidental high volume when linking a speaker to the current music playing.

1. It would be great to have a setting that prevents a speaker from being past a certain volume point (let's say 10) when being linked... Or maybe the speakers always defaults back to volume 10 when not in use.
I can't be the only one who has added a speaker to the current playing group only to find that that speakers volume is blasting louder than what was expected...

2. The app slider volume control is just unintuitive & susceptible to jumping on the phone . Maybe if it was bigger or there was like a quick "volume preset" button, but those tiny sliders on the phone are a PITA when trying to fine tune 8 speakers especially when they are all different.

Would be great (and logical) if we had greater control over the most important setting when using speakers.

I think there is a volume limit function for this purpose, are you using it?

Yeah, that type of volume limit does not apply to this. I don't actually want to "limit" or change the volume range permanently, I just want to temporarily prevent blasting music because either the speaker was set to high previously or it accidentally jumped up.

So an example would be I was playing my Family Room speaker (Wiim Pro Plus) loud at one point a few days prior and then decided to add it to a group in the morning while playing something mellow and the volume was still set high... Needles to say once it connected it started blaring the music loud undesirably.

As you may be aware, the AVR has the ability to set a default volume for standby on. If I turn the volume down at night, it will be back to the original volume when I use it the next day. I previously suggested this feature, but unfortunately it was not adopted.

The team is developing the ability to manage groups with smart presets.

It may be possible to include volume settings for each device here.

I agree, a couple of times I forgot I had the volume fixed when I use headphones, , at least we should be able to let if fixed according to the output

Lol, this is actually what got me to post this.... Aside from having it happen with speakers I was trying a new pair of Fiio IEM's with the Ultra and the volume was high, (luckily not fixed) when switching outputs.... It got me and was infuriating.

Looks like Apple has an intelligent way of dealing with this:

"iPhone automatically sends you a notification that you should turn down the volume. After you receive a notification, the next time you plug in your headphones or connect them using Bluetooth®, your volume is automatically set to a lower level. You can turn the volume up again if you choose"

I don't care for a notification, but if the volume controls for WiiM devices would "reset" to a user selected level after use that would be pretty damn smart.

Hi all !

Having the sound not reset may also be a nice feature.

Imagine you go out of home for the nigth and let your son (mine is 19...) have the house with friends ...

When you're back, you just need to turn on music to understand why neighbours look at you this way ;-)

Regards
JJ
