What are you listening to?

Me again 😉

Linn not only builds the fantastic and iconic LP12 beside some other extremely good and extremely expensive stuff.
They also have some great produced music on their own label. For fans from Baroque opera and from voices this Serse earns a thumb up!

They also have Radio Stations (320kbps mp3) WITH metadata / cover art on LMS

Linn Radio - http://radio.linn.co.uk:8003/autodj
Linn Classical - http://radio.linn.co.uk:8004/autodj
Linn Jazz - http://radio.linn.co.uk:8000/autodj

But Naim top them with mp3, AAC and FLAC streams with metadata some cover art but not always

Naim Radio - FLAC - http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8360/flac.flac
Naim Classical - FLAC - http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8250/class-flac.flac
Naim Jazz - FLAC - http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8340/jazz-flac.flac

I have got a Vinyl copy of this which arrived on Saturday but for now I’m listening to the Qobuz version. The vinyl has 25 tracks but only 23 on Qobuz.

Yeah, heard that version a few months back. Certainly different…

Finally this one. Brilliant live recording from the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
A superb homage to the great Krzysztof Komeda. In my opinion one of the most important composers for cinema music and an equal important Jazz musician! 5/5

A very particular kind of Jazz, but…Great Choice (y)
Listening just now and i like this album.
Do you see? You are widening my horizons ;)

This is how I first heard of Krzysztof Komeda. I was listening to something similar on LMS and the LastMix/Don’t Stop The Music plugin threw me this track from Qobuz.

Simple Acoustic Trio, as it’s name suggests, was a piano led Jazz trio run by Polish pianist Marcin Wasilewski. They also record as the Marcin Wasilewski Trio.

It’s worth reading up about Krzysztof Komeda as although his most notable work came about in the mid 60s he was active in the Polish jazz scene during the communist era some while before where jazz was forced underground by the Soviet rulers. As someone above pointed out he went on to become a leading composer for cinematic works and is largely responsible for the Polish jazz movement which exists today. One of the strongest in Europe.

♪ Playing Svantetic by Simple Acoustic Trio [Marcin Wasilewski, Slawomir Kurkiewicz, Michal Miśkiewicz] from Komeda (1995) (Local • 733kbps VBR 16bit 44.1kHz FLC)
