What have you settled on for now playing screen?

Just curious if there is more or less a consensus on what you guys like on the NP-screen? Big album art, small album art with song title or VU-meters? I tend to go back and forth but still think it would be cool if I could use different settings for different inputs. Like VU-meters for phono and album art for Ethernet.

I use VU-meter for everything now, after having used both large album art and also deactivating it completely. I agree that being able to set a now playing screen for inputs would be great. I particularly would like to be able to disable the screen altogether when HDMI ARC is active and the tv is playing.

I sit about 10 feet or so from my Ultra so I use the VU meter.

I never use the screen except when I first turn the unit on, it's set on the wrong input, and my phone isn't close. Then I use the remote--and am annoyed how long it takes the inputs to change.

It's an adequate preamp but I wish it just had pushbuttons.

Has anyone ever requested a deluxe BT touchscreen remote??

@SansuiSushi in another post "Screen Options" suggested very nice and useful screens. I attach here his suggestions

Very very nice ideas. Is it that hard to implement screens like the ones shown in the suggestion? A few months have passed and we still have only one Meter. Nice, now working, but only 1. 🤔 🤔🤔
Even a decent fixed clock wouldn't hurt. Not that hideous overly colored clock

This +option to chose different options for different inputs. Your spectrum analyser for my Tape deck, VU for phono, off for HDMI or however you like it. I recently posted about this for a feature request. Please fell free to bump that thread and make this happen!

I use the now playing screen with the larger album art, I like the smaller art and what's playing but cannot read it from my listening position.
I have a fixed volume output so the vu meter is not great for me, but if your using the Ultra as a pre amp I think it's pretty cool:)

Hi @gazza1101
I also use fixed volume and the meter works perfectly. It has nothing to do with volume adjustment. Not even with that of the WiiM.
You can change the volume as much as you want, but the meter works on its own. I think it's related to something else. The power? It behaves differently if the incision is at high or low volume.
The meter I have on the Topping D70 Pro Saber behaves the same way.
The volume of the devices does not affect the behavior of the needle

I mostly use the VU meter, sometimes the large album cover. I look at the screen from 3 meters and they are the only ones I can see.
I would really like to see meters like the ones shown in the tip implemented, it would be a considerable leap in quality.
The feature of the Ultra is the presence of the screen, Wiim should make better use of it.

Screen is always off.
