You should reconsider your ergonomics.
Ok, really getting the itch for an Ultra II that will terrify the Eversolo T8 and match up well with the Volumio Rivo+.
Think WiiM is ready for it. Do it, WiiM, do it!
I feel like I should clarify my point of view. Why? There's no reason an internally fully balanced device would perform better. It can be exactly the opposite.
The advantages of a balanced connection (in those rather rare cases where they might be needed) can be fully realised with devices that are internally single-ended. Everything else is a myth.
Sure enough, XLR connectors are superior to RCA connectors mechanically and electrically. They also consume quite a bit of space and - believe it or not - are totally uncommon with home Hi-Fi gear, except for us Internet nerds.
As long as the E-class exists, you can always opt for that at the Mercedes showroom, regardless whether the S-class is there or not, so long as they don’t cease E-class production.I feel like I should clarify my point of view.
I'm not against a flagship digital streaming pre-ceiver at all. Balanced outputs, why not? Dual ES9039Q2M, sure. It's just not that all this would be mandatory for the Ultra. It could be implemented in an upmarket device.

I don't see any similarity whatsoever.
What might be interesting is a simpler design with a single instead of dual tweeters, intended for use in stereo pairs and multi-channel systems.
And then you sound like a 4-eyed pig. What might be interesting is a simpler design with a single instead of dual tweeters, intended for use in stereo pairs and multi-channel systems.
Dual tweeters might be fine when a speaker is used standalone (to try and achieve some illusion of width), but when the speaker is used to reproduce only a single channel in a stereo or multi-channel system, dual tweeters result in both an interference pattern in the horizontal dispersion and a directivity mismatch with the woofer. IME this degrades stereo image stability and causes excessive brightness in the stock tuning.
I wasn‘t saying it should be the same technical design.
