What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

If wiim can produce a cheaper version of a full home theatre processor /preamp that would be awesome

Hi. I have five WiiM devices at home. One Wiim ultra, two WiiM pro, one WiiM pro plus and one WiiM mini. I don't use analog outputs on any of them, except for the subwoofer output on the WiiM Ultra.

My dream WiiM device would be a simple transport that would have digital outputs (like the Wiim pro has) and an analog output for the subwoofer (like WiiM ultra has).

An external DAC gives much better sound than the converters on board all WiiM devices. In addition, the external DAC can have balanced outputs. The WiiM's analog outputs give muddled sound and, moreover, are unbalanced.

Hi, my 2cents on what new product: a WiiM Streamer BRIDGE, target audience: audiophiles with top quality DAC, AMP-DAC, etc and needing the best execution of the essential Streamer-without-DACor AMP. Featuring excellent power from top switching power tech, excellent PCB design, organisations with prime components focused on audible difference in music reproduction, rather than theoretic the last edge and unnecessary expansive components/implementation. Like the PRIMARE PRISMA NP5 but with the know-how, software and streaming platform that makes WiiM excel. Have a WiiM PRO PLUS, optical/coax feeding into top Hegel DAC & AMP and Mojo's and Grace stuff.
maybe BNC out if not too expensive, further developed Room Correction (with optional Wmic/WiiM iPhone measurement microphone?)
NO screen or surplus connections (we cap all our inputs RCA XRL for stray RFI anyway)
Just decent, reliable tech that these days is more affordable than ever and the fab access, versatility, integration that WiiM offers with an edge over the competition! Does that make sense?

tech wise: based on 20+years embedded software and 30 years of audio pro / audiophile work
  1. carefully optimised Ethernet input (eliminating need for Ethernet filters etc),
  2. quality re-clocking of digital streams on inputs and outputs,
  3. quality switching-mode power supply (inspired by PRO's like Benchmark, Putseyz, Chord etc)
  4. Think the present Apple TV4k aesthetics and quality are fine, allowing to focus on quality design and components and form factor that is audible superior quality, (Min. audible distortion, minimum audible noise, flat, neutral, honest and keeps costs/price down. (My WiiM PRO PLUS is hidden away, it all happens in iOS and Mac OS).
  5. Continue reaching out to Audirvana, mConnect and Jplay in case anything can be done to maximise compatibility & credibility, further integration with QOBUZ.
  6. have Apple Music integrated in WiiM UNIX-based (preferred) OS platform (as FiiLo and Eversolo did on Android) so one can play bit-perfect hi-res from Apple streaming services but ALSO FROM LOCAL FILES (bypassing AirPlay though WiiM has great AirPlay implementation).
  7. and last but not least: implementation of local storage (SDXCcards and/or NVMe M.2 SSD), very stable, affordable tech now and allowing to focus on USB-port as an output (competing with S/PDIF).
  8. good extra headroom in memory and CPU capability and design to maximise robustness and lifespan

I will keep it simple

A WiiM Ultra Pro:
- With an external power supply
- Be able to playback DSD files
- Balanced Output

I would like to see a companion amp for the ultra without the dac section. Just a pure analog preamp, no volume control. Added bonus would be to have the same glass front as the ultra but with one wide display or 2 displays side by side for a L/R meter.

losing a DAC/volume option ....for an expensive screen just for an accessory vumeter....surprising idea... but explicite
;-)

What about all the owners of other WiiM devices that might want to benefit from a better DAC section than they currently have, would they be left out in the cold? At least with the vibelink, it covers all bases.

And re the VU meters and display screen , wouldn’t the signal need to be digitised for those (unless you want physical analogue meters) and wouldn’t that have the risk of potentially degrading the audio?

I think WiiM have taken a sensible approach with the vibelink targeting a wider audience.

Power amp not preamp

there is the vibelink so there is already a product for those wanting a better dac. I think its possible to add meters digital or analog without degrading the signal. I thought this was a place to post stuff we would like to see without someone other than wiim saying no your idea is stupid?

I don't believe he called your post is stupid. Here is a user community. Anyone can suggest their ideas, but it is also a discussion forum.

There is a request thread in this forum, but if you don't want anyone to voice their opinion on your suggestion, please submit a request ticket through the feedback section of the WiiM app.

Thank you.🙂
