What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

Well, here we are 1 week later, and I am a bit surprised by the lack of comments !

Thanks to Karlaka for the thumbs up (y)

Question for @RyanWithWiiM Any thoughts on a member questionnaire ?
We'll be putting out a new feedback survey pretty soon, I'm trying to do it quarterly. I'll see about adding something to it this time around.

I'm pretty happy with my Pro but I'd be even happier with it if it had an M.2 SSD bay on it's underside. I'd upgrade in a minute if one was available.

Better buy a NAS, even if it's the cheapest one from Qnap or Synology. Together with e.g. Minimserver it is the better solution. I was not convinced by the handling of the Ultra with a connected USB SSD (MiniDLNA).

Super happy with Ultra. As a matter of fact I love it. Would be PERFECT if it could be configured for bi-amplification. That is, the analog outs be HF output and digital outs be LF or visa versa using the internal crossover. I would not care personally if the subwoofer out were defeated to accomplish this feature, but most would probably prefer bi-amp and have SW out. I think bi-amp capability would open up a whole world to the Ultra.

I’m thinking a miniDSP Flex would work out better for you to do something like this. Much finer control over the crossover.

In many way you are right. I looked at the SHD which in theory does everything I want to do in spades but is WAY more expensive, and I am in love with the operational simplicity and GUI of the Ultra when actually using it to listen to music.. I own an older 2X4 so am familiar with using the crossover functionality and it is superior, but I don't need that for my application. The Ultra's crossover flexibility is fine for me (except for the pesky PEQ filters run on the signal before it is crossed over) but I manage with that too. I may be a corner case but I don't think so. I think if Wiim kept everything the same and just made the crossover have a "stereo" option, it would get a lot of use.

This one feature alone I think is helping Luxsin (Zidoo/Eversolo) sell a decent number of X9 preamps (its true stereo subwoofer output and decent bass management features).

That is a very nice and interesting device! I was not familiar with it. I bet you are right. And just look how close Wiim is to that (and much more in the sense of awesome streaming) with just what appears to be SW and firmware update. (maybe not, I have asked if it is physically possible with existing HW, but no answer so far)

How about an all out assault on just a digital streamer. I find the USB out on my ultra does not sound as good as the ultra alone with a dac that I would like to use. So great USB out tosslink and coax. And give it a lot of computing power so you can change tracks quickly surf the app quickly. So more speed and again and all out assault on better digital outputs in a nice box.

USB audio out is USB audio out. There are no such thing as a better USB. You can have better clock pression on TosLink but that is really not need.

The speed of track control mostly depends on your network and attached disk speed, so not much to do there either.

Just throwing in a question here - not a suggestion or a request, just a question.

Would it be possible / feasible to design + produce a streamer with user swap-able components like DAC / Clocks etc etc. In the same way that some computer motherboards allow you to upgrade processors and memory etc ?

Just wondering out loud.

Yes that is of course possible. They would probably be much more expensive than conventional setups of discrete boxes. So I don't see any companies doing that.

You can however build your own, as a modern steamer is mostly a computer. Check out e.g. the raspberry pi audio projects.

Innuos does this with their Stream1.
