Can't say I recall any of the cd players I've used since they came out not being gapless, i.e. none of them 'paused' between tracks.

I was interested in the new inexpensive SMSL PL 100 but, according to the early reviews, it seems it is not "gapless": a pause of half a second occurs between tracks, and this is not compliant with the requirements of the famous "beige book", that sets the standars of "compact disc" format . This is very annoying especially if one listens to classical music or prog rock of the seventies: album like "Thick as a brick" or "TDSOTM" would be almost unlistenable.

on a cd it is gapless when it is necessary, continuous, like in classical music etc and not gapless when differentiated tracks like in "pop music etc"... just when streaming cannot make the distinction....
CD players that do no respects the standards of the beige book NEVER play gapless, even when they should. Or at least that's what I've been told....

Pretty sure CD players have always been gapless if the actual CD is gapless.
On certain uses, streaming is quickly unbearable...or say far from being a progress for the moment...

I have never had an issue streaming gaplessly with Lyrion.

I haven't used LMS... I recognize it, but in other approaches the micro or longer cuts were quickly desperate... but that's not the only reason that made me give up streaming ;-)

If they produce an AVR, but I think it’d be more likely that they’d enhance their DD5.1 firmware to drive another device.
I would like to see Stereo WiFi speakers with an added in sub. Much like the Amz Echo's have. They should be WiFi so distance doesn't really matter like with BlueTooth.
No one seems to have this, Sono's was Rf that doesn't work that well and is ridiculously expensive. Denon has a wifi setup, perhaps support that?

I don't see a need for an ordinary CD transport. There are several of those in the market. Check also other comments and threads in the Forum.
@WiiM Team What could be nice was however to have an intelligent WiiM CD device with LinkPlay module and automated lookup of CD meta data (title, album art, etc.). All controlled by the WiiM Home App. A kind of a "CD streamer".
