I have the Dayton mike (bought a year ago for $40 on Amazon in the US) and downloaded the calibration file. It was within +/- 1 dB from bass through about 10Khz so I wasn't worried about trying adjust my readings any further using the file. You're going to get far more variation than that from just moving the microphone around a bit from reading to reading. Since I don't listen with my head in a vise, I was very pleased with the improvement I got using using the "uncalibrated" mike for room correction, though I will say I liked the results with the Dayton mike more than what I got with the Samsung S22 built-in mike.Okay, it's a possible solution, but it's very expensive ($176 on Amazon) just to calibrate the audio system a few times.
There are more simple microphones available, but they don't have calibration files, so the problem persists.
For example, my very old Pioneer audio-video amplifier has a built-in calibration microphone that connects directly to the amplifier.
Maybe this is some subliminal manner of asking WiiM's next new product to be a (more affordable) calibrated mic. This mic discussion needs its own thread.
What’s up with its clock?Ultra II, Ultra II, Ultra II.
It's time. Make it kick even more ass with that lovely USB, AKM chipset and improved clocks.
It's not Fight Club, for goodness sake.Ultra II, Ultra II, Ultra II.

I have never seen in-ceiling speakers. Is that a US fenomen or is it used in other countries also?Idea:
In-Ceiling, Powered, WiFi Speaker, for Easy Whole-Home Retrofits
I’d love to see a speaker, with built in amp and wifi, that could be installed directly into the ceiling in different rooms of the house, tapping into the existing power lines for recessed or other ceiling lights.
Basically, an in-ceiling version of the upcoming Wiim Sound. Something that seamlessly integrates into the current Wiim ecosystem. Perfect for retrofits: simple installation, clean look, and instant expansion of the Wiim audio experience throughout the house.
Really?Never seen a 4.4mm headphone jack. 3.5mm and 6.35mm but not 4.4mm.
ReallyReally?
Like anything, there's room for improvement. Also, AKM has a new combination chipsets that would truly kick butt. Just a thought. What’s up with its clock?
