What's your setup/configuration look like?

Is that the Fosi rack they polled people on recently? Is it out now…
Edit: I see that it is not. Nice, though. How does it work with the two V3’s. No vents. Don’t they get awfully hot?
Works fine with the Fosi’s, had them on for 4 hours last night and although they do heat up they’re never hot.

Installed a silver Ultra into my living room hifi today. Since I was in a hurry it has to reside behind a door for the time being.

It is replacing a Yamaha WXC-50 and a Logitech Squeezebox Touch. Here is a diagram of the whole system:

My setup provides audio throughout the house for casual listening -- listening while making dinner, lounging in the living room, relaxing in the back patio spa, or having people over for a drinks and fun. I have built and configured it for the ability to move music from one area to another, or to group different areas together to play collectively. It has replaced a similar Sonos setup that I ran for over a decade.
Sound quality is important to me, but within the reasonable bounds of the type of listening I am pursuing. I primarily stream flacs from my home NAS, as well as stream from Spotify.

Main floor kitchen / living room
WiiM Pro Plus analog outputs feeding:
Emotiva BasX A4 4-channel amplifier driving:
4x KEF Ci-200MR in-ceiling speakers (stereo pair in in the kitchen, stereo pair in the living room)
WiiM Pro Plus analog outputs feeding:
HTD SDA-200 subwoofer amplifier driving
HTD Sub 80-LP

This is our primary living space, which is effectively one large room, and I've put the most effort into this area. The four KEF in-ceiling speakers give excellent coverage. The pair in the living room actually work pretty well for more engaged listening as they are arranged pretty well relative to the sofa. The KEF drivers have great dispersion and I think are perfect for this job.
Because the kitchen is a very live and "bright" space, I have attenuated the analog inputs to those speakers via 3db rca attenuators to better match the levels in the living room.
The Pro Plus and 4-channel amplifier live in a cabinet in the kitchen with the network stuff.
I recently added a little low-profile passive "subwoofer" and digital amplifier under the sofa. This is driven by a second WiiM Pro Plus, effectively turning it into a networked sub. I keep it grouped to the main Pro Plus feeding the in-ceiling speakers. After a couple weeks of adjusting, listening, and tweaking, I am very happy with the way it fills out the low-end in the room, and actually gets the room thumping with the right music and a little volume. I think there is opportunity here for WiiM to enhance this kind of usage...

Basement home theater
WiiM Pro Plus digital (fixed) coax output feeding:
Denon AVR-X6700H driving:
7.4.2 speakers consisting of mix of Elac Uni-Fi Reference (center channel), Elac Uni-Fi 2.0 (L/R), Elac Debut 2.0 (wides), SVS Utra (surround), Elac Debut 2.0 (height), and a couple HTD subs (12" and another little low-profile).

This is our cozy place to retreat into movies, tv, video games, and occasionally some focused music listening. The WiiM gets used for focused listening or when have a party and group it in with everything else.

Basement shop
WiiM Pro Plus analog outputs feeding:
Parasound Zamp V.2 driving:
Elac Debut 2.0 DB62 bookshelf speakers installed in the ceiling

I spend a significant amount of time in here working on bikes, skis, assorted projects, and I like to drink beer and rock out while I work. With the way I have finished the ceiling in here, I have hidden a pair of bookshelf speakers behind slats. Not a great for sound dispersion, but it works well enough for me. These also sometimes get grouped with the rest of house when we're feeling festive and social.

Back patio
Audio Pro A10 MkII (non WiiM edition) x2

I have two A10MkIIs set up as a stereo pair on my back patio. This usage is officially a little out-of-spec for being installed outside, but I have accepted that as my choice with my consequences. I am not concerned however, as they are under an eve, and I have done some customization to protect them even further. I did the same with a pair of Sonos One's for over 10 years without any issues.
These do a great job filling our small patio with sound, and when the weather is nice we can be in-and-out with contiguous music on the main floor kitchen / living room area.

Bedroom
Audio Pro A10 MkII (non-WiiM edition)

Last but not least I have one A10 MkII on a shelf in the bedroom. It occasionally gets moved to the garage or the front porch. We call it our "portable" speaker.

I am very happy with the WiiM products, software, and most importantly their support for their products.

1000010342.jpgAfter initial listening the Arcam irDac turned out to be a better DAC than the internal ultra. Does anyone have any comparisons with this dac?

2.1 setup in my small but surprisingly poorly configured living room. Files fed through the Pro Plus, Fosi ZA3, to R3 Meta's.

Setup 1:
7x WiiM Pro Plus -> 2x Sonance DSP 8-130 amps, AC infinity rack fan doing very little given the open rack, and an external exhaust fan.

@jeffme - what's the backstory on your setup? Is this a home installation across multiple floors and rooms?

I'm sure lots of folks would be interested on how you arrived at this! It looks very intriguing to attempt!

Thanks, @hoohoohoo - yes, for home installation across multiple rooms, for 2 different apartments, each set up at different times and with different constraints.

For the rolling rack setup, that was early on in the pre-WiiM Amp, pre-10 band PEQ per channel, etc. so I went the Pro Plus / external amp setup. I've played with a bunch of 1U 8ch amps from different vendors, and Sonance just ended up being the vendor with the right set of features, not the least of which was availability on eBay. Then, to make things tidy, I just got a rack off Amazon, a rack shelf, and 1/2" foam tape to keep the Pros separated and spaced evenly. On the backside is a whole bunch of velcro and wire routing, along with a switch. So, the only things connecting the rack to the wall are 1 cat 6 cable, a power cable, and all the speaker lines. At the time, I managed my room correction with REW and the DSP in the Sonance amps.

For the more cluttered setup, this was clearly post WiiM Amp, and less clearly, post WiiM PEQ. I had less space (depth wise) to work with, so the Sonance amps were right out. I wanted a couple of the rooms to get plenty of juice, so I tested out the Buckeye Amp, which is awesome and not that deep. I had to get custom XLR-RCA cables and checked out Speakon cable connectors. It turns out, however, that this isn't really the best setup, as the Buckeye has a single trigger for all channels, so I've gone back to a full WiiM Amp setup & the 6 WiiM Amps live inside that cabinet quite happily. My OCD self still needs to order shorter power cables to tidy things up a bit.

The net of all of my experience is this: unless you have very specific requirements for whole house audio - e.g. a set of speakers that are quite special - 90% of rooms are best served with a WiiM Amp setup. The audiophile in me wants to suggest the WiiM Amp Pro, but the pragmatist in me knows that Airplay 2 makes things just work a little more easily for the random guest or the random app someone wants to play directly from their phone.

Right now, I'm working with a friend for a 24-zone WiiM installation... and playing around with separate WiiMs for subwoofers in some of the rooms.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
