I’m still undecided on this latest addition to my setup. It definitely adds a bit of warmth but at low volumes there’s a strange intermittent but audible hum when I get close to it. Tbh I’m not yet convinced it isn’t yet more snake oil.
Is that a cuddle clone? This is the before picture of my setup:

This is the after picture. After I had gotten rid of useless junk and sorted the remaining cables.

It is a cat clone I bought off of Amazon. It is supposed to releive stress if you hold it.Is that a cuddle clone?
What's the power amp?I’m still undecided on this latest addition to my setup. It definitely adds a bit of warmth but at low volumes there’s a strange intermittent but audible hum when I get close to it. Tbh I’m not yet convinced it isn’t yet more snake oil.

Mini 300 is a solid amp, especially for the price, it’s incredible! What's the power amp?
I'm currently very much enjoying the Topping Mini 300, fed directly from the WiiM Ultra over RCA. 12v trigger working perfectly with a mono cable.
It is my first try with class D. It really has me wondering what more one can you want from an amp. Sounds great so far! Still need to do some comparisons with the big Rotel it's sitting on, but call me impressed!

Are you happy with the PMCs?New to the forun and new to the Wiim.
Currently running the Ultra to an Arcam A5+ amplifier which is powering a set on PMC speakers and Rel subwoofer. View attachment 34281

My favorite speakers. Also the cats favorite.![]()
Can’t really fill the stands. The legs are basically completely sealed except for the threaded openings for the fasteners. That’s what I get for buying cheap stands off Amazon.@EddNog Where's the turntable?
How about filling the stands with lead shot and sand? Then you won't need the weights. It will also dampen the entire stand. My 28" Target stands are filled such... but the Skylan 21" is filled with rice... which is the manufacturer's recommendation. I don't know if it was organic or brown rice since I bought it used, but given the seller was from SE Asia I figure he used jasmine rice. ( what a waste... we love rice ). In any event, whether organic (rice) or inorganic (silica-lead) it makes the stands much more inert and heavy. They don't rock at all.
The rest... my strong recommendation is that you put the Solo and the Ultra on the top shelf. Away from the subwoofer and the floor (!!!). Ideally you would build another shelf, say 2" butcher block and use eight Sorbothane pucks to isolated from the main shelf. Looks like you have the space to do this (height and width). It will isolate the components and get that off the floor! You're gonna get cat hair in it.
It always amazes me the variety of amplifiers and stuff. To play the LP in my main 2ch rig takes two racks of equipment! The amps are 5U monoblocks.. and even though I spec'd aluminum cabinets they weight like 60 lbs each... The digital path seems like an afterthought with the Ultra and a Burson DAC.
Oh, don't post that in the AVR forums... they will immediately note that your TV is way too small. ;-D
Tried that. I can hear faint ticking and clicking between tracks and even worse when watching stuff on TV via ARC I can hear clicks/ticks between sound events like right before and after the blip as I move the selector between buttons in the home screen on Apple TV 4K (when running digitally from WiiM to the DAC using either coax or optical). Using the Pre90 to attenuate the full signal in analog realm lowers this digital noise floor below audible whereas using digital volume control still sends a full-range signal to the amps, so the digital noise is still audible even when the actual content is attenuated, plus having the Pre90 allows me to use the analog connection from the WiiM directly to the preamp, avoiding the Eversolo/digital separates chain entirely.@EddNog very night setup, one question though. What is the reason for pre90 with d90 discrete, this dac is with volume control so I believe it can also act as preamplifier.
