What's your setup/configuration look like?

I’m still undecided on this latest addition to my setup. It definitely adds a bit of warmth but at low volumes there’s a strange intermittent but audible hum when I get close to it. Tbh I’m not yet convinced it isn’t yet more snake oil.

I think a Woofer 🦮 🐩 🐕‍🦺 will sort that hum out...

What's the power amp?

I'm currently very much enjoying the Topping Mini 300, fed directly from the WiiM Ultra over RCA. 12v trigger working perfectly with a mono cable.

It is my first try with class D. It really has me wondering what more you can want from an amp. Sounds great so far! I was waiting for the pure power amp option (with built-in PSU) 3E Audio has been teasing for a while now, but couldn't pass on this for just €139. Still need to do some comparisons with the big Rotel it's sitting on, but call me impressed!

Mini 300 is a solid amp, especially for the price, it’s incredible!

this is what I have for past 2 years:
amp: Rotel 1520
speakers: Fyne audio 502
DAC: Topping E30 lite (not visible here - beside Rotel)
source: Wiim pro

sipmle yet effective

Finally completed my, “Full Topping,” chain…

Topping D90 III Discrete DAC
Topping Pre90 preamplifier
Topping B200 monobloc power amplifiers

WiiM Ultra and Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 streamers. The WiiM’s ARC automation is leaps and bounds better than Eversolo’s, so I run the TV’s ARC output to my WiiM as well as the 12V trigger line to the amps and sub. Any time I’m not listening to music, I keep the Pre90 set to RCA input and the WiiM set to Line Out. This way my wife and kids only ever have to touch the one Apple TV 4K remote to watch stuff, even when I’m not around. I also have the Toslink output of the WiiM connected to the D90 III Discrete’s optical input. Playing Qobuz through that connection, it sounds exactly the same as the the Eversolo through USB. I use the Eversolo for music because I prefer its ReplayGain implementation and because it doesn’t resample/convert DXD or DSD down to 192Khz PCM like the WiiM does and I have a decent library in both formats. Eversolo’s Plex client is also much better than WiiM’s as my Plex server delivers unprocessed/bit-perfect audio including DSD to the Eversolo unlike the WiiM. In fact, Eversolo’s Plex support is so good that I ended up not bothering with using the NVMe bay entirely. The Eversolo also plays native lossless high-res Apple Music for me, which we know WiiM can’t do. Conversely when I want to listen to music with lyrics on the TV, I use the WiiM because Eversolo’s lyrics function has never worked for me on their Apple TV app.

WiiM Ultra’s ARC implementation is the best. Turning on the Apple TV 4K automatically activates the TV and the streamer, and the streamer automatically switches to ARC input. The Eversolo is dumb and has no such automation at all other than volume control over CEC, so all input/output switching and device activation need to be manual. Additionally, the WiiM can send any input to any output, whereas the Eversolo can only broadcast material from its internal player (streaming) to any of its digital outputs—all digital inputs including ARC can only be output through its own built-in DAC and analog output.

Gotta’ run both streamers to get the best of all worlds!

@EddNog Where's the turntable?

How about filling the stands with lead shot and sand? Then you won't need the weights. It will also dampen the entire stand. My 28" Target stands are filled such... but the Skylan 21" is filled with rice... which is the manufacturer's recommendation. I don't know if it was organic or brown rice since I bought it used, but given the seller was from SE Asia I figure he used jasmine rice. ( what a waste... we love rice ). In any event, whether organic (rice) or inorganic (silica-lead) it makes the stands much more inert and heavy. They don't rock at all.

The rest... my strong recommendation is that you put the Solo and the Ultra on the top shelf. Away from the subwoofer and the floor (!!!). Ideally you would build another shelf, say 2" butcher block and use eight Sorbothane pucks to isolated from the main shelf. Looks like you have the space to do this (height and width). It will isolate the components and get that off the floor! You're gonna get cat hair in it.

It always amazes me the variety of amplifiers and stuff. To play the LP in my main 2ch rig takes two racks of equipment! The amps are 5U monoblocks.. and even though I spec'd aluminum cabinets they weight like 60 lbs each... The digital path seems like an afterthought with the Ultra and a Burson DAC.

Oh, don't post that in the AVR forums... they will immediately note that your TV is way too small. ;-D

Can’t really fill the stands. The legs are basically completely sealed except for the threaded openings for the fasteners. That’s what I get for buying cheap stands off Amazon.

Not really a vinyl kind of guy, personally, but enjoy your collection!

@EddNog very night setup, one question though. What is the reason for pre90 with d90 discrete, this dac is with volume control so I believe it can also act as preamplifier.

Tried that. I can hear faint ticking and clicking between tracks and even worse when watching stuff on TV via ARC I can hear clicks/ticks between sound events like right before and after the blip as I move the selector between buttons in the home screen on Apple TV 4K (when running digitally from WiiM to the DAC using either coax or optical). Using the Pre90 to attenuate the full signal in analog realm lowers this digital noise floor below audible whereas using digital volume control still sends a full-range signal to the amps, so the digital noise is still audible even when the actual content is attenuated, plus having the Pre90 allows me to use the analog connection from the WiiM directly to the preamp, avoiding the Eversolo/digital separates chain entirely.
